My favourite training app to date!
I was looking for an app to help me train for a half marathon, a friend recommended this to me. I can put in my goal, how much training time a week I have and it does the rest.
What I love is how I feel like it has eased me into the training, you mainly run in zone 2 which can feel super slow, but this is the secret sauce about this app!
It’s based on elite level zone training but available for the likes of me to now use. I feel confident in it helping me reach my goal and that I’m training safely. I always feel up for my next run! I can also cross train in the app if I want to switch it up and log that too.
It works with my apple health data as well. My favourite things are the success score which tells you how in the zones you managed to train to (you have a voice coach telling you to slow up and down based off your heart rate it tracks). I also love at the end the amusing comments you randomly seem to get lol.

Best Heart Rate Based Running App
I just got back into running in April of this year. Due to a variety of medical issues, last year was rough on me and I didn't do much physical activity. I was worried about anything that was too stressful on my body, so I decided on Zone 2 training. Then I found VALR and was stoked about the method they use. I signed up for the 10K Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, SC and decided to solely use VALR as a grand experiment in Zone 2 training.
Well the race was this past weekend and I got the best time I've gotten since 2013, pre-kids, 8 years younger. But not only that, the training seemed to be just about the right intensity the whole way and I was able to avoid injury, which has also been a problem for me in the past!
I'm sold on the VALR method. As a side note, anytime I had any questions their support was so quick to respond. Wonderful app, caring team!

A training must-have!
I love that this app personalized my training based on my goals. The app is easy to use, and offers excellent data. I’ve made significant progress with my training and am thrilled to continue training with VALR
Good tool for workout tracking
Enjoyed using in JustGo mode and looking to Campaign mode.
Love this App
Fair to say that this app is one of the most user friendly in the exercise-related market. It is literally transforming this “couch potato” into a motivated & sustained healthy life style campaigner. Just wish I could rate it as 10 stars!
