Feeling a bit bait and switch
I’ve been happily using this app since their first advertisement on Accidental Tech Podcast in June of 2023. Every year, the renewal comes up, and I re-up because I just get so much value out of it.
I’ve disappointedly watched development and updates slow down over years. We even used to get regular newsletters but I haven’t seen that in over a year.
That’s not great, but the app has continued to work. So I have been happy enough with it.
To be honest, I thought the app was abandoned. But now to my surprise, it turns out it’s getting updates again! Only now, it REQUIRES os26 which I can’t use due to my need to be able to read what’s in my user interfaces. Apple isn’t even pushing to everyone yet.
Regardless of the reasoning, the app authors have made their choices. They made a bet that I would care more about this app that they ignored than I would about usability of my entire computing device. They chose poorly.
The situation now is that they are taking my recurring payment and I’m not getting anything in return. If there was a one-time payment, I wouldn’t have any issue; buy something once, get what you purchased at the time.
Unfortunately, that isn’t an option. When app developers think it’s okay to rug pull and change the deal, all we can do is to stop supporting that behavior. I will be cancelling my subscription and getting a refund for the remaining balance.
If the situation should change in the future, I would be happy to return and to update my review.

Thanks for the feedback! We have been updating the app regularly as can be seen in the version history. It’s important for us to keep up with Apple’s operating system and focusing on the latest version allows us to maximize our efforts. Hopefully in the future the new iOS will better support your needs and we can then work to earn you back as a customer!
Best cocktail app I know
Really like this app and it’s the best one I know of for cocktails. I like the ability to add my own recipes, find drinks and manage my pantry and know what I can make right now. I like the interface and think the app is worth the subscription.
What I want to see to give five stars would be a web interface in addition to just the app, and the ability to import recipes from a web page or other means. This ability is available in many food based recipe managers.

Really like this
Came here from their ad on Accidental Tech Podcast a while ago. I’ve now been using it for more than six months and really enjoying it.
So useful
I LOVE this app. Was recommended to me by a bartender friend. I can add all my ingredients and end up with a big list of fun drinks to try. Also helpful is the suggestions on which bottles to pickup next. These are based on what will add the greatest number of additional cocktails recipes in conjunction with what you already have. Of all the apps I pay for, this one has the best ROI.

I see the potential
I’ve sat on this app for a bit. I added my ingredients and saw the suggested cocktails, but wasn’t super blown away. The format of recipes is solid. It just needs content. I’d like an easier way to search and filter content. The current page to filter by singular subjects like: ingredient, temperature, base is interesting but I’d like to see this integrated into the actual search function.

App got freeze
Hi. I’ve sent an email to you guys few weeks ago about my apps got freeze. Is there any update about it please? I need to use it at work. And I have paid for it.
Settings crash the app
When I attempt to press the settings button the app freezes and totally locks up.

Makes it easy
As an at home “bartender”, I absolutely love this app. I’m able to easily look up recipes, create my own, and rate drinks I’ve tried so I don’t have to try to remember which I would like to make again. Regular updates. Actual responses from service. Worth the subscription imo.

I really enjoy making cocktails do someone in my family bought a year pro subscription expecting to family share. Sadly family sharing isn’t available but we emailed them and they gave me a free gift pro subscription instead.

Looks interesting but more than half of the cocktails it suggested were hidden in the free version.
Maybe it’s priced fairly but I don’t want to pay for $15 just to find out.
Also though, Google is free.

Mike, thanks for the review - we'll keep working to add more value to the app. While many of the recipes are available online we have created features on top of those like tracking what you can make with the items in your personal bar as well as your history of favorites (or things you didn't like). Our goal is to provide the easiest possible way to find new drinks that you enjoy. BTW, if you'd like to try to app fully-featured, you can always start the free trial and cancel it before Apple charges your card (easy to cancel, no strings attached).

It’s a great app. Allows you to organize your ingredients, keep track of the drinks you’ve tried and even helps you decide what buy next. Support is great and there are regular improvements.
Interesting concept, don’t like subscription model
Love the app layout and concept, but I don’t like subscription based apps.
I’d rather have categories of recooked locked behind a paywall than have to pay $3 a month for tons of drinks I’d never try.
Maybe consider changing it to unlock blended drinks for $1-2, or unlocking fun shots for $1-2
That way you can pick exactly what you want, and don’t have to pay the monthly / annual fee

UPDATE: I don’t know if I just didn’t see it, but the dev responded with the exact feature I mentioned in my review so bumping this up to 5⭐️
This app is quite handy when it comes to thinking up cocktail menus for parties, impressing guests, and honing your mixology skills. The only thing I wish for is an “Almost ready” tab where it lists options for cocktails that you just need one more ingredient to complete. I’ll have most of the ingredients for a lot of the cocktails listed where I’m just one ingredient away so when I’m at the shops, I don’t know how close I am to greatness with the purchase of just one more ingredient. Other than that, this app is great, and I use it constantly to make drinks on the weekends and expand my cocktail repertoire.

The best cocktail app in the App Store
I’ve been very impressed by how good this app is. It makes it very easy to discover new recipes and is very intuitive to use. My favorite feature is the ability to easily see a list of ingredients that I don’t have in stock which will unlock more cocktails. It’s already the best cocktail app in the App Store, but the developers push out new features frequently and it gets even better with each new version.
This is now my go to cocktail app, nothing else gets close to what this this app does.

Wanted to like it
Kevin Kos fan. Downloaded it with high expectations, but there is a *monthly* paywall around every useful feature and recipe. I don’t understand the business model… I wouldn’t mind paying a one time fee for a useful app, but a monthly subscription to cocktail recipes I can find anywhere on the internet is a bit ridiculous.
