It’s a start
We got an app good. But why stop with faders only for aux channels. We need all channels, with eq, gain control and everything that’s in the mixer. Just look how other mixers do it and do it better. The s6l is such a great mixer so a good app shouldn’t be a big problem
Not for engineers
This is fine to let a musician control their own IEM mixes. But that's it. No access to channel EQ, dynamics, graphics etc. Even Behringer can make a good ipad app, why can't Avid?
Fantastic app
Engineers looking to use this app are simply in the wrong place looking at the wrong thing.
This is designed for MUSICIANS to fail in their own levels. The engineer should do eq and dynamic work on the desk.

Wait, what?
How many musicians set their own mix on a show using these desks? I loaded this app to set up off stage mixes and video feeds with the matrixes. Nope, those don’t exist. Can’t even get to groups. Where’s the app that is actually useful to mix and system engineers?

Yes, the S6L is way better than it’s predecessor in all the ways. But this iPad app is crazy limited. To point that it’s not usable….

Mixing boards that cost 90% less can do it. What happened Avid?! Let’s fix this! The mixer is just about amazing. Why make the iPad app so limited?

Good, not great
In my brief experience using it, it seems to work well for what it offers. While I had some issues connecting to the monitor console initially, that seems to have resolved itself.
However, I’ve seen apps from other companies with much better functionality. Our church moved from Yahama CL series consoles, and Yamaha’s MonitorMix app is a lot quicker to operate. It mainly comes down to being able to create grouping templates, where channels can be grouped and color-coded. This makes finding the channel you need to adjust way faster than with Venue On-Stage, which has no groups and no color coding, requiring you to swipe through every channel looking for what you need, and having little visual indication to assist you.
It does have a leg up over Yamaha’s app in that it features live metering on each channel, making it easy to identify channels that are clipping for example.
If Avid were to make those changes to allow for grouping and color coding, that alone would make the app a 5/5 so long as stability remains intact.

No iOS14 support
This app is completely broken on iOS14. All of our musician’s have already updated their phones as most people do. They cannot use this app to adjust their ears.

Seriously needs a update
Contact Avid directly about update and said something was in the work. Waiting to see if with the release of the Venue software for the S6L series of console they will also release the fix for the iPhone/iPad application. It just blows my mind that Apple can break a developers app with no warning and a developer can take months if not longer to fix the issue once notified about the issue.

Latest IOS update lost connection to console
No longer have access to my console (not shown, demo only) after IOS update yesterday (10/29/20)

Dear user. Apple iOS 14.2 has been released and updating your OS will fix your connectivity issue. Please update to 14.2 to make VENUE | On-Stage app working again. Note that there were no issues in the VENUE | On-Stage app itself.
Doesn’t Work With iOS 14
Apple gives developer previews to new iOS. Not sure why this was broken by the time 14 came out. Please update and take care of your software.
Down as of IOS 14
As of IOS14 the app is no longer able to connect to our S3-LX counsels at any of our church campuses. Pretty disappointing when we have 5 of these.

Since the iOS 14 update, this app will not recognize any consuls. Need to update ASAP.

The app will not see consoles once you update to iOS 14. I noticed the problem with the iOS beta and was hoping it would be fix by the official release. The last update was two years ago and Avid has little to no support for the app.
Simple and designed well
It’s sole design was to be a musicians on stage monitor mixer. It’s super easy for any musician to pick up in a matter of seconds.
Not extremely useful
Needs much more interaction. Only mixes auxes and mains. Needs access to eq, dynamics, VCAs and plugins. Why is Avid so far behind?

There are almost NO components to this besides sends and master fader controls for mains and auxes. Almost pointless to release an app with these few features. My studio live console from 2010 had A TON more features than this. It’s embarrassing for Avid to be that far behind the game. Hard to believe that Berihnger is more accommodating than them. STEP IT UP PRONTO!!!!
