About

[VeriCite — Academic Citation Verifier] AI writing tools are powerful, but they hallucinate. Fabricated paper titles, invented authors, non-existent DOIs — these "hallucinated citations" look convincing but lead nowhere. VeriCite automates the tedious manual verification process, cross-checking multiple authoritative academic databases in seconds. [KEY FEATURES] ▸ Citation Verification Paste any citation in any format (APA, MLA, Chicago, Vancouver, etc.). VeriCite automatically detects DOIs and PMIDs, queries databases in sequence, and returns a verification status with a confidence score (0–100). ▸ Batch Verification Paste multiple citations at once. VeriCite splits and verifies them in parallel, with real-time progress tracking and a confidence score distribution chart. ▸ OCR Scan Input Point your camera at a bibliography page or pick an image from your photo library. The Vision framework extracts the text and feeds it directly into the verification pipeline — no typing required. ▸ Field-by-Field Diff See exactly where your citation diverges from the database record — title, authors, year, journal — all flagged clearly so you know precisely what's wrong. ▸ Export in Multiple Formats Export your verification history as plain text, CSV, BibTeX, APA, MLA, or Chicago — ready to paste into your paper or import into any reference manager. ▸ History & Spotlight Search All results are stored locally. Filter by status, re-verify any entry, and find past results instantly via iOS Spotlight search. [DATABASES CHECKED] • CrossRef — 150M+ records, primary source • PubMed / NCBI — medicine & life sciences • Semantic Scholar — 200M+ papers • OpenAlex — 250M+ records, strong humanities & social science coverage [PRIVACY FIRST] No account required. No personal data collected. All history stays on your device. Citation content is only sent to the academic APIs listed above — nothing else. [IDEAL FOR] • Researchers conducting literature reviews • Graduate and undergraduate students writing theses • Academic editors and fact-checkers • Anyone using AI writing assistants 【Privacy Policy & Terms of Use】 Privacy Policy: https://static.tinyomnibus.me/tinyomnibus_english_privacy_policy Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Additional Terms of Service: https://static.tinyomnibus.me/tinyomnibus_english_terms

What's New in VeriCite

1.2.0

July 15, 2026

New: Retraction detection. If a paper has been retracted by its journal, VeriCite now flags it clearly and links to the retraction notice. Citing a real but retracted paper can be just as damaging as citing one that never existed. More rigorous verification: • "Not Found" and "Check Failed" are now clearly distinguished. Network problems are no longer reported as "the paper doesn't exist" — real papers won't be mistaken for AI hallucinations. • Failed checks no longer consume your daily quota. • The lookup chain now compares all sources and keeps the best match, reducing false "Partial Match" results. Fixed: DOIs containing parentheses (such as 10.1016/S0140-6736(97)11096-0, common in older Lancet and Elsevier papers) were not recognized correctly.
