What's New in Verifyco
1.3
October 18, 2026
Verifyco 1.3 makes results clearer and more open about uncertainty. • Clearer answers when the evidence is mixed: an inconclusive result now shows which way it leans (toward authentic, toward AI-generated, or mixed), and a "What does this number mean?" legend explains each score band • Content Credentials: intact credentials from recognized signers now verify against a trust list, and ordinary photos without credentials no longer show a verifier error • When a file can't be checked, a plain-language screen explains why and what to try next; that attempt does not use a free analysis or a credit • Result text now names the layer that raised a concern, and Verifyco is better at spotting camera details copied from another photo • Analyses keep running when you switch tabs and can be cancelled; the Live Activity follows the current analysis, and links shared from other apps wait instead of interrupting it • New optional OpenAI provenance check in Settings, off by default: it asks OpenAI's Content Provenance API whether a JPEG, PNG or WebP image carries OpenAI's own signals; a detected signal is a provider declaration of AI generation, "not detected" is no evidence either way • Detailed reports and PDF exports are now translated in all 20 languages • WebP, TIFF and BMP images are accepted; the in-app camera records video at high quality, and you can choose to save in-app captures to Photos • Fewer false "active content" flags when reviewing scanned PDFs • Diagnostics are now off unless you choose to share them • Fixes: History reports close properly, sharing on iPad no longer crashes, photos with an unusual embedded thumbnail no longer crash the app, and a credit-pack purchase that is still being confirmed shows as pending Verifyco offers probabilistic decision support, not a legal finding or an accuracy guarantee.
