About

Someone sent you a VerifyShot photo? Open it in VerifyShot to check whether the image still matches its original cryptographic signature. VerifyShot also lets you capture your own signed photos with device-local time and timezone, optional GPS and map-derived address, configurable project watermarks, and image integrity information. VERIFY RECEIVED PHOTOS Choose a photo or use “Verify with VerifyShot” from the Share Sheet. Verification happens locally, with no account and no VerifyShot server. VERIFY FOR FREE, CREATE WITH PRO Verification is free. VerifyShot Pro unlocks Camera, Projects, and Gallery with a one-month free trial, then renews monthly at the price shown by Apple. Family Sharing is supported. The App Store purchase confirmation appears only when you choose to start the trial—not when you download the app. The subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and can be managed in your Apple Account settings. CAPTURE SIGNED PHOTOS Take a photo in VerifyShot and choose its project directly in Camera. Each project can configure watermark placement and fields such as project, person, site, reference, device-local time/timezone, road/city/ZIP/country, GPS, accuracy, custom text, and optional current Apple Weather conditions. Signed shots are stored in the app and, by default, Photos. REVIEW IN GALLERY Review VerifyShot captures in a familiar photo grid, swipe through them full screen, check the signature again, and share the original JPEG. Select multiple captures to remove their local VerifyShot copies with a clear confirmation; copies previously saved to Apple Photos remain there. The latest shot is one tap away from Camera. The app hashes the final watermarked visual content and signs the evidence using a per-installation P-256 device key. Hardware protection is used when Secure Enclave is available. SHARE A NORMAL JPEG The signed proof travels inside the JPEG metadata, so supported file-sharing paths do not require a separate manifest, sender account, or cloud lookup. A visible watermark helps recipients discover VerifyShot. UNDERSTAND THE RESULT VerifyShot separately reports signature validity, image integrity, and recorded capture claims. A valid result means the image and signed information match the included device key. It does not independently certify that a device clock, GPS sensor, device, weather reading, or photographed scene could never have been manipulated. PRIVACY BY DESIGN • No account • No analytics SDK • No advertising or tracking • No VerifyShot backend upload • Offline core verification Optional project weather uses Apple Weather through WeatherKit. Address labels use Apple reverse geocoding. Both are best-effort network features; capture and verification remain available when either is unavailable. Some social platforms strip metadata or recompress images. In those cases an image may no longer carry a verifiable proof. Sharing the original JPEG as a file provides the most reliable result.
