What's New in Vertex Maps
1.7
October 21, 2026
What's new in 1.7 • Glide area: in Measure, drop a point and tap Glide to see everywhere you can glide from it, colored by glide ratio from 3:1 to 10:1. The path routes around ridges, and Glide reads the real ratio to the crosshair, out to 20:1. Set a start height above launch. • XC Potential (Pro, Paragliding): a 0–5 cross-country rating map with hazards shaded, and a crosshair readout that names what's limiting the day. • Terrain AR rangefinder: aim at any ridge or peak, live or in a photo, for its distance, height difference, elevation and glide ratio. • Daily chart: whole-day cards over the hourly forecast, running past your model's range on RRFS and GFS. • Step a day at a time from the timeline's ends; nights are shaded on the timeline and charts. • A new, lighter wind palette for Wind and Gusts, with clearer state lines and coastlines over weather. • Fixes and polish throughout.
