Vertically News

Vertically News is a newspaper that sets today's headlines the traditional way — fully vertical, characters stacking top to bottom, columns reading right to left, exactly as CJK text was meant to be set. Live headlines from major Korean, Japanese, and Taiwanese outlets, laid out as one front page. Not a horizontal app with rotated text: vertical punctuation forms, paragraph indents, and kinsoku line-breaking rules are all honored. • Fully vertical, right-to-left typesetting with proper CJK glyph orientation • Three editions — Korea, Japan, Taiwan — one tap apart, chrome language included • Two reading layouts: paged (지면) and continuous flow (흐름) • Serif (Baram myeongjo) or sans typefaces, three text sizes • Light, dark, and sepia themes • Yonhap, Hankyoreh, SBS, NHK, Asahi, CNA, Liberty Times built in • Add any RSS feed of your own
