Nothing
Ive been on this app for a month and I’ve yet to have any sort of interaction that could possibly be considered a step towards being booked. For context I’ve worked on over 30 verticals. I’m very experienced in this space and yet not a single possible offer of being booked. No avail checks. Nothing. I don’t even know if there are any casting directors on here, because the way it’s set up is a dating app. As an actor I can see other actors and I can “swipe” on them to say yes or no but as an actor I don’t need that ability on a casting platform. This app feels very predatory towards actors and I recommend anyone who is wondering if this will be a good investment in their career to save their money for something that will actually help. This is not something that will benefit you as it is.

Awful launch
As an actor, I am very familiar with casting platforms, and VertiCast has a long way to go to compete in this market. Charging actors $15/month out of the gate is a massive misstep, especially when established industry standards like Actors Access are cheaper (and offer free submissions via desktop). Even Casting Networks faces backlash in the acting community for high fees—VertiCast starting at $15 for a heavily flawed platform is a tough sell.
The app design feels incredibly outdated, reminiscent of Tinder circa 2012, and the functional bugs make it incredibly frustrating to use:
The Aspect Ratio Glitch: The support team emailed me telling me to crop my landscape clips down. However, their actual system strictly demands a 9:16 vertical ratio and completely blocks landscape files. To make matters worse, when you do try to upload a clean, cropped 9:16 vertical clip, the app errors out and rejects it anyway. It's a broken loop that forces you to pad files with huge black borders just to bypass their system errors.
Zero Transparency: My account says I’ve been "added to lists," but there is zero explanation anywhere in the app or the FAQ about what these lists mean. This is my personal data and professional information; I have a right to know how it’s being categorized.
Poor Customer Service: When I reached out about the account lists, my question was completely ignored, and I only received a message regarding the video crops.
I understand the app is new and still developing, but if you are going to charge actors premium prices, the basic functions and customer support need to match that price point. Hopefully, these updates are made soon for future users, but for right now, it is not worth the subscription.
