Your numbers from your ring and watch — and what they mean in perimenopause and andropause.
Sleep breaks up around four in the morning. Energy disappears by midday. Mood swings for no reason, the body responds differently to the same food and the same training. And in reply you hear: it's just age, be patient.
VIA-L is made for that period — perimenopause in women from 35, andropause in men from 40. It does not tell you to be patient. It helps you understand what is happening with how you feel, and gives you one thing to try, in a size you can actually do.
THREE THINGS VIA-L DOES
1. Explains the data from your device. Sleep, HRV, resting heart rate, temperature, steps — in plain words, with your age and cycle phase in mind, not against generic norms.
2. Helps with this specific period. Hot flashes, waking at night, brain fog, anxiety, weight, libido, recovery — each read is built around what you came with.
3. Gives you recommendations for the day and the week: sleep and evening light, meal timing, movement you can sustain, effort matched to your energy.
FOCUS OF THE WEEK
You mark what bothers you — hot flashes, sleep, brain fog, weight, anything. VIA-L picks one main step for the week, and after seven days checks what moved, using your own 0–10 ratings: keep it, step it up, or move to the next one. Every day brings a new short card: why this step matters, how to do it today, and what to do when a bad night, the weekend or the weather gets in the way. Each concern gets a card: what may be behind it and what to try.
WHICH DEVICES CONNECT
• Directly: Oura and Ultrahuman rings, Polar, Withings.
• Through Apple Health: Apple Watch, plus Garmin and other watches and bands that write to Apple Health.
• No wearable: the app works fully by hand, a couple of minutes a day.
WHAT IT IS BASED ON
At its core are 34 clinical patterns in our narrow field: 23 for women's health and 11 for men's. Estrogen and progesterone, sleep and sleep apnea, stress and cortisol, thyroid, insulin response, inflammation, gut, heart and blood vessels, bones and muscles, skin and hair, pelvic floor, testosterone, prostate. Behind them are 970 scientific publications from international medical journals. Under every read there is a "What this is based on" button: title, journal, year and a link to the original.
WHAT YOU GET
• A daily read of your state in plain words, and one small thing to try.
• Your own baseline: after a couple of weeks VIA-L compares you with you, not with a norm.
• Temperature and cycle: your device confirms the cycle phase, and when your cycle becomes irregular, the read takes that into account.
• Blood pressure, and a schedule for supplements and medicines with reminders.
• Listen to your read in your phone's own voice.
A REAL SPECIALIST
When you need a person, not just an app: where available, you can order a written review of your situation from a specialist in this field. If you already work with a specialist, you can connect the app to them with their code — messages, photos and, if you choose, your data.
YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS
Your entries live on this device. There is no account and no sign-up. The text of a read is held for up to 72 hours under a random device identifier and then deleted. Helping to improve the app with anonymised days is optional and off by default.
IMPORTANT
VIA-L is a wellness and lifestyle app. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, does not replace your doctor, and is not a medical device. If something in your wellbeing worries you, talk to a clinician.
SUBSCRIPTION — THREE OPTIONS
