Apple customer service for app store is terrible. They declined my refund request which I accidentally purchased. There is no way to contact realy person to resolve the issue. Terrible service.
The Only Choice for Video Compressing on iOS
The UI - simple; The performance - excellent; Ease of use - incredible.
One of the few app that I can reliably use on day to day basis. The fact that I can pop a video in, compress to Discord share size, and out within seconds is sensational.
Rarely an app made me want to write a positive review, but the amount of time this app saved me the hassle of figuring out how to evade Discord’s size limit deserve all the gratitude, five stars and all.

Brilliant!
I downloaded the app after seeing a discussion with the (independent) developer on Reddit. I also emailed the developer some queries before buying and they were very helpful and kind.
I like that the videos are compressed locally so there’s no worry about a big corp owning your data. It’s also an excellent app and every upgrade has been a huge improvement.
You can compress multiple files at one and mass delete what you’ve compressed as well as choose multiple compression settings so you can make the file smaller but not lose much quality at all.
Highly recommend it!

Disappointed
I like and paid this video compressor because it’s natively built and it had background processing vs live activities.. what the hell happened to that??
Recommendation
Have Select All feature and skip videos that are already compressed as the file names have Kompresso on it…
Really great video compressor
It’s wonderful and super useful. The settings are fairly customizable to give a tradeoff between quality and space. The only things I wish is that it could automatically adjust the timestamp to match (the metadata setting doesn’t seem to work for that), and possibly support queuing files. Also the background processing failing is a little unfortunate but afaik that’s not an issue with the app itself.

Love the app! Can you give us the option to remove Kompresso from converted file name?
I absolutely love this app. I’ve been using it for months now, but one thing that I wish was changed was that it always renames the file to “Kompresso_IMG0000”. I wish we could remove the renaming of it. Or at least let us choose our own name before the _IMG0000. That would be superb! Maybe after that, batch edit? That would be amazing!!!!

Love this app! It’s incredibly easy to use and worth every dollar. I’ve been able to compress large videos files into much smaller ones, which has saved me a ton of storage space.
As someone who values their privacy, I appreciate that the developer has made user privacy a priority. Their privacy policy is straight forward and easy to understand. In today’s world, if something is free, then you’re pretty much product.
I appreciated that the developer provided a free trial. Thanks to that I was able to try it out and in the end purchase it. Vote with your wallet people, if you value privacy, support those who respect yours.

Love the app, do kinda wish there was a version for the Mac tho, I use it mainly for compressing my homework videos before uploading them, and so that they don’t take up so much space on my drive, but it’s just a bit annoying to have to transfer them to my phone, to then transfer them back.
Also I guess one gripe is that sometimes when it says it’s “loading”, it takes what feels like forever for it to do so, so if there was a progress bar or a bit of text saying what it was doing at that time, it would be nice.

The App Store dream
This is what the App Store was made for. A simple app for a totally fair one-time purchase that does exactly what you want it to do, simply and well!
Now I can upload videos to Discord without needing to pay for a Nitro subscription just for the video size limit increase.

App stopped working
I wish I could love this product, given it’s made by an independent developer. But the app has simply stopped working. I paid for the lifetime subscription, and after converting 4 videos in total, the app won’t finish converting any more videos. It would get stuck in the conversion stage. I tried uninstalling and installing it, contacting the developer, but nothing has worked so far and I feel a bit scammed out of paying for the lifetime subscription.

Finally a good video compressor with options
So many apps for video compression seem to be made with little thought that some people would want more than 2 options. The app I used to use before I found this app through a Reddit post when googling for a better app, only had small, medium, and big options for resolution and a bitrate slider, that’s it. This app actually allows you to choose video codec, bitrate, framerate, file container, and a specific resolution like 4K, 1080p, 720p, or original. I just starting using it and really wanna buy lifetime but I genuinely can’t afford it right now, the App Store page shows a $2/month tier which I planned to sign up for but sadly it’s only $2/week or $20/lifetime, which isn’t a bad price but I can only afford to buy the weekly subscription every once in a while and compress everything at once. The App Store showing $2/month did mislead me, I’m still very happy I downloaded the app however and hope I can afford to support the dev in the future, been looking for an iOS app like this for years. Would give this 4.5 stars for the misleading App Store in-app purchase menu but in lieu of that option, it still deserves 5 stars more than 4.

Haven’t used the app in months but somehow my usage limit hasn’t reset. Useless.
Was pretty good before
I got it when it had initially released and was happy with the app, you either had 3 compressions a day for free or you paid if you wanted more, seemed reasonable. This was completely removed and now it’s $20 for an app made to compress discord videos (no, offering a subscription isn’t helpful)
Very good (can we have a Mac version?)
The compression system is very good and keeps all the metadata (even GPS location)! Which not many converts can actually do … can we have a Mac version? Or at least install the iOS app on Mac ?

You used to get a few free conversions per day, which are performed on-device and not via a server, and the dev basically recently flipped a switched so that is no longer the case. And they are now charging $20 for this…and all of this without offering any new features or functionality.
This is incredibly disappointing…
Especially since you can get this exact same functionality for free, with no limits on usage, and up to 1gb video files, via an online search of “video compressor online free”.
