Bug report: background play

(I will fix the rating to five stars as soon as this bug is fixed)

Whenever Pip is not active if I switch off the phone , the playback gets stopped after a few seconds because the operating system kicks it off. It should continue to play in the background, taking advantage of the OS permission to play.

Great app recomend highly

Very Impressive

I am usually very picky when it comes to apps, but this one feels very intuitive, and it gets the job done. Unlike other media players, it has no ads. Yes, there is one that encourages you to upgrade, but they are not real pushy about it. They do it once, and then not again. And the pro version is not a bad deal at all. It is either $1 per month, $3 annually, or a one time purchase for $8 for full use. So they are very flexible.

Getting to the app itself, the first thing that stands out to me is that it has realtime preview. You can tap and hold the playhead, and as you drag it, there is realtime preview rather than skipping. KM Player has this feature too, but it doesn’t work if the video is paused. This app works whether the video is paused or playing.

Also, you have the right tools right on the interface. You’ve got your volume control, playlist and chapters, and additional settings. Very easy to understand and navigate. And I assume that the pro version gives more control over the Playlist menu. Though, I am not sure how the Chapters menu works yet. I wonder if it is for downloadable movies that have a chapter selection?

My only criticism is that I am not a fan of the name. Video Player sounds very basic, and there are many other video players too. Plus, there are many others with a very similar logo with the same name, so this one is not easily identifiable. Aside from that, I do really like this app.
