Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to specify a reliable maximum video length, as this depends heavily on the device being used and the video itself. Factors such as the iPhone or iPad model, processor performance, available memory (RAM), available storage in GB, video resolution, frame rate, codec and file size can all affect how much of a video the device is able to process successfully. For example, two videos of exactly the same duration can require very different amounts of memory and processing power. A video that works without any issues on a newer, more powerful device may therefore exceed the available resources on an older device. Also for example if you, have a large video that requires 10 gigabyte of storage, but you have only 5 GB left, then it is technically impossible to save it. Therefore, it is not possible to give good advice regarding the maximum video length. I completely understand why a maximum length would be useful, and I really appreciate your suggestion. Unfortunately, because of these technical differences, giving a specific maximum duration could be misleading. In practice 99% of user's videos can be processed without any problems. Probably as long as a video is not hours long and the device being used is reasonably recent and you have enough storage space left on your device, you should normally be able to edit and process videos without any issues.
