Hudl is much better and more efficient
Just good as a viewer
We switched from HUDL to VidSwap over a year ago for high school soccer. We love the film breakdown for shots and goals. But the app and only viewer are not user friendly. Until you can easily clip and share clips with your team, highlighting players and drawing on the clips etc, this just isn’t a useful learning tool.

Making the change
Been using HUDL and honestly, it would still work fine for what I need. The primary reason I’m switching is to take advantage of the Club benefits of VidSwap and the Pixellot camera which is going to save us a lot of money capturing games.
It makes coaching easier
Hudl was never reliable. Vidswap has been fantastic and simple to learn.

I have recently joined VidSwap because our team has switched over from hudl to here, already within the first minute of creating my account I’m already having issues. This app is utterly straight up garbage because I signed in using a link that my coach provided, yet I still can’t watch film, like what!? anyways, this app is trash!

This was not a very well thought out design.
You Get What You Pay For
Our school switched over because of the coat of Hudl. I was not in favor of the switch, but I did find that anytime I had a question I got a quick response and started to learn the system. After our season started, responses became slower and I started to realize it is not even close to Hudl. One feature I was excited about was the breakdown of the video without the costs, but when I started going through the breakdowns I noticed a lot of mistakes (the glaring one is they were counting our steals as team turnovers for us). If cost is an issue, this will do the job. If you can afford to stay with Hudl, stay. No reason to switch to an inferior product.

Terrible app
This is one of the worst things that’s happened to our football team, I have no clue why we switch from Hudl to this crappy app. This app is hard to use and doesnt run as well or as smoothly as Hudl, in my opinion there’s no reason not to be on hudl.
Cheap
Our team recently switched to vid swap to avoid the pitfalls of paying 3000$ as a school for HUDL. Our coaches attempted to be open about the change and sat in on a zoom meeting with a vid swap rep. But every time we asked about a feature we were used to having from HUDL, he replied with “I’ll have to talk to the engineers.” I suppose I would have taken him at his word if I didn’t already know that VidSwap has been around as long as HUDL and has failed to take off in the years since. That alone should tell you this company is primitive and is living off life support.
Getting to the App. Every other reviewers points on video are spot on and haven’t been fixed. As of the writing of this review it has been SIX MONTHS since an update. Also there is no ability to view a team playbook, so it looks like our players will be going back to the stone-age with paper knowledge. No team rosters, or messaging features either so I will only be able to message my team when I bust out the ole’ desktop. My final point is: how silly is it to be one of the founders of this company and then turn around and give your app a 5 star review yourself? Stop skewing things and take feedback critically and make it better. Your bummy company that you don’t improve for months on months at a time affects kids ability to play the game they love at a high level, and get recruited by colleges. If I was allowed to I would pay for hudl for my team myself and forgo my coaching stipend. That is how bad this product is. If you’re thinking about leaving HUDL...in the words of Billy Madison “Stay there...stay as long as you can.”

Could be great
Our team recently switched from Hudl to VidSwap and with just a few minor fixes the app could be great. It’s simple which is nice but it’s near impossible to watch in slow motion which is a bummer. The button placement and video slide bar desperately needs to be redone. Other than that it is very intuitive.

Cheaper than hudl
My team switched to this because hudl got too expensive and the app is decent. Gets the job done. Nothing special though
Needs optimization for iPhone X
The video screen is reduced and buttons are placed in inconvenient places because the app is not optimized for the iPhone X. Other than that it is a great app and very helpful.

I was just wondering if you can add the feature of getting a full screen. It's kinda frustrating to having to look at my games and have the play button and all the features there. If you can just click on the screen and make it full screen, that would be great! But overall, love the app... Thanks!
