I downloaded Vidy AI through a promotion and have been quite impressed. One of the options is a Star Wars lightsaber video that brought no end of entertainment to my five and three year old grandchildren. (There was also a video of my wife—based on a recent photo—that looked like the day I first met her. Absolutely enchanting—then and now.) Like all AI apps, the results can be rather hit-or-miss, especially if you don’t begin with a straight-on photograph. That said, Vidy AI’s videos are superior to anything I’ve seen, with a success rate of about 60%. Other than hovering spaceships and a desert locale in the background, it seems impossible to identify my grandchildren’s images as being AI generated.
Although a year’s subscription is considerably less expensive than the weekly option, I intend to purchase by the week when necessary as my interest in filmmaking waxes and wanes.
