Every so often, we have to renew users' access to prevent them from having to re-enter their login information too frequently. While this is taking place, the app displays a "Welcome Back" screen. Before, if this renewal process took too long due to a bad network connection or other problem, the app could get permanently stuck on the "Welcome Back" screen. Now, if renewing the user's login takes longer than 7 seconds, we cancel the renewal request and send the user to the log in screen where they can start a fresh session in the app. This prevents users from getting stuck waiting for the process to complete. Before, if users went offline then regained their connection while using the app and navigated to the Appointment Work Order details or messages, the app would crash unexpectedly. Now, changes in connection status will not affect these two screens and users can continue to use the app after they get back online.
