Fun and it a cute addition to my Mac book
It could be a lot better and I believe it can be.
Hi I’m a premium user and I wanted to request some features for VinylPod.
• A animated spinning vinyl on the widgets with good performance. MD Vinyl’s widgets run embarrassingly choppy (A large reason to why I left.) it’s made 50X worse when running on low-power mode on the IPhone 13. To make this possible I believe this can be made possible by keeping the image low resolution and the FPS reasonably low as well.
• A way to remove the artist name/song name and just have a widget with the vinyl in the center. I prefer this because it makes it look like a turntable from a bird’s eye view. And if you do end up doing this, please allow a Vinyl arm to be visible on the small version of the widget, please and thank you.
• A medium widget that is simply a music controller with previous, play, pause, and next buttons. Adding different and fun style options to this would also be cool, having a realistic style music controller that looks like a studio controller, a car stereo, a space shuttle etc.
• An option which enables tapping on the widget not only refreshes it, but re-syncs the streaming app to it, so the user wouldn’t have to open the app to do so. Or (If possible) find a way for the app to notice that an album has changed every few seconds.
• In the app itself, add a Vinyl rack of saved albums and playlists (Personally I’d like an option that combines saved albums and playlists because some of my playlists are simply albums that I’ve downloaded to my device and aren’t streamable). MD Vinyl has this and so does Vinyl Music, why not VinylPod?
• Custom vinyl art. Sometimes album covers aren’t meant to be cropped to fit the front of the vinyl such as ones with borders. Maybe add an option to have a track list be the cover, because this is what most vinyl covers have or at least let the user apply a custom image.
• The color spectrum for the backgrounds is terrible. The choice to use SHL without a light-to-dark scale leaves no way to choose a specific shade of gray the user wants. A working transparency slider would also be great if that’s possible— no transparency is shown on the home screen when used as of writing.
• An option to connect to one’s downloaded music. I might be moving away from Spotify at some point and being able to connect to a personal music player app or VLC would encourage me to make the switch but most importantly attract a lot more audiophiles as this allows for lossless music files (I believe to be .flac or .wav) to be played through the app.
That was all I have to say, I’m giving the app a rating of 2 stars, but I think the app can become more. It’s leagues better than Music Vinyl as this app actually works, has far better functionality, and isn’t priced at 12.99 for a lifetime subscription, but there is plenty of room for improvement.

Needs to have more album covers some of the songs that I play have no cover on the vinyl or image when playing on my screen and on the notch
