This simulator appears to work great on my M3 MacBook Air. Nice emulator!
Great app
I want to start by thanking John Kennedy for making this app, he put probably countless hours into making an educational tool. Not only that but he made it completely free so thank you! The app is a great representation of some old computers and it really gives you a sense of what it would be like to use them back when they came out. My only gripe is on my 14 pro it does seem to heat up my phone a bit on the kim simulator, I haven’t tried any other modes. Regardless I absolutely love the app and again thank you John!

A Brilliant Tribute to Chuck Peddle, Jim Butterfield, and Steve Wozniak!
I absolutely love this app. The description is hilarious and the manual (Readme.txt) is a fun read and a fantastic asset. As an “80’s kid” whose first 6502 experience was the Atari 2600, it was really fun to learn to use the legendary KIM-1. Lunar Lander is a blast on the keypad UI!
The only issue I encountered was with the terminal interface. While the vintage-style keyboard layout looks awesome, I found it difficult to use for any nontrivial typing. I also wished for system keyboard features and support for landscape mode. Perhaps this is as it should be, as I find it equally difficult to type on vintage keyboards from the '70s and '80s.
In any case, I don’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth, as this app is packed with a ton of great retro-computing functionality for ZERO COST. As a developer myself, I know the dedication and labor it takes to produce an app like this—I developed WOZNIAC-1 to address the issues I had with the VK terminal UI, and that has taken as much effort as my previous full-time job. Many thanks to John for putting in the effort to create this!

Wow this is great!
I’ve had this around for a very long time, but I must have seen something about the Kim and revisited this app - wow, this is awesome!
You can revisit the glory days and actually program and run this to see what it was like to be on a computer back then.
I can only imagine how crazy it must have been to play lunar lander in the 1970s…very awesome!

In the Age of Ancients the world was unformed, shrouded by fog. A land of gray crags, Archtrees and Everlasting Dragons. But then there was Fire. And with fire came disparity. Heat and cold, life and death, and of course, light and dark. Then from the dark, They came, and found the Souls of Lords within the flame. Nito, the First of the Dead, The Witch of Izalith and her Daughters of Chaos, Gwyn, the Lord of Sunlight, and his faithful knights. And the Furtive Pygmy, so easily forgotten.
With the strength of Lords, they challenged the Dragons. Gwyn's mighty bolts peeled apart their stone scales. The Witches weaved great firestorms. Nito unleashed a miasma of death and disease. And Seath the Scaleless betrayed his own, and the Dragons were no more.
Thus began the Age of Fire. But soon the flames will fade and only Dark will remain. Even now there are only embers, and man sees not light, but only endless nights. And amongst the living are seen, carriers of the accursed Darksign.

Quite broken on iPad
Most of the buttons like Files/Rest just don't work on iPad.
Also, assembly source editor would definitely benefit from syntax highlighting.

Amazing retro computing for iOS
This takes me back to my first 6502. Obviously crafted with much passion and nostalgia for the early home computing era. Thanks John!
Qwerty keyboard too wide on iPhone.
Great app, but the QWERTY keyboard is too wide to fit on my iPhone XR in the KIM-1 and Apple-1 emulators which makes it unusable.

An amazing 6502 experience on iOS
This seems to be the only app of its kind on iOS. I’m having great fun with it but wish it had a landscape option when I turn my iPad sideways, and if it worked with my hardware keyboard it would be even better. Right now I just edit elsewhere and paste in the assembly code. The KIM console is a bit weird. Actually I wish it didn’t emulate the KIM and gave me a real assembly console app so I can type things like LIST and G 200 and NUM and things like that. Anyways this is still a fantastic app!!!

No matter where you are in the world and when 6502 inspiration strikes you will finally be able to try out that piece of 6502 code on this great Kim-1 emulator
Awesome app.
Initially, I thought it was just a 6502 emulator running under an old KIM computer.
Imagine my surprise when I find that not only does it support the KIM with video output, it also supports the Apple 1.
I tried a few programs on it, and it really gives you a feel for the 70's computing scene. I'm going to see if I can use with our education offering at The National Museum of Computing at Bletchley Park.
Other than that, absolutely excellent emulation of these old machines.

A lot of fun
I love the experience, and the documentation is awesome. I recommend this is programming on a 6502 is interesting to you.
Great app but…
Having problems with default keyboard. It wraps beyond screen on latest iOS update running on iPhone X. Makes it very hard to enter anything correctly

Not as advertised
Was looking for an emulator on iOS for the 6502 and found this, unfortunately it looks to just be a keypad with hexadecimal keys and some others, no in app documentation either. Don’t waste your time with this.
