Unable to be used in iOS7
This app was very good for me to take my 3D models with me to show my colleagues at relevant meetings. I did recommend this to colleagues for their use at that time.
This app will not display any 3D models in iOS 7. I contacted the developers in October 2013 regarding an upgrade for iOS7. They stated this would take a few weeks. There has been no update 3 months later.
I would no longer recommend this app to anyone.

Does it all, but no one's home.
This app does what others cannot... Measure parts, and turn individual bodies on and off within an assembly.
However, the developer seems to have given up on the project, making compatibility with newer CAD programs and operating systems paralised by outdated conversion software.
The SolidWorks converter only works with 2009 and below.

Design Engineer
This will be a very powerful and useful tool when it is done! Performance is much better than previous versions. The interface is still very clunky and not very intuitive. Plus no help area (or maybe that's hidden too). Maybe I will get my money's worth over time with the upgrades.
Great for showing off my 3d models
The app comes with a companion application for OSX or Windows that allows you to convert your 3d models from other formats.
I was able to convert some models from VRML 2.0 (with textures) to the format the app requires, and they look pretty good. None of the screenshots show textures, but it is possible to use bitmap UV textures.
I would like to see more options for the conversion of models (including the ability to flip the Up Axis). The ability to easily define a background image would be great too!

Doesn't work with older versions of solid works.
Although it mentions the versions it works with, I purchased it with the curiosity and hope that it might work with a slightly older version of solid works. Unfortunately it did not, so I cannot in all fairness rate this product. All I can say is make sure your software supports exactly what they state before making a purchase. Good luck! Since I could not submit this review without giving it a rating, I've given it a "3" neither good nor bad, just to be fair.

Good program, but having to pay twice for it is annoying.
The program itself, is excellent. Great graphics, great functionality. I'm amazed that I can now carry my 3D models with me and don't need to bring a laptop as well as my iPad on trips. Perfect! My carry-on just got a lot lighter!
But i'm a little disappointed with the purchase process. Being a paid app ($2) I expect that my $2 is paying for me to be able to avoid popups offering me a premium app for $20 more. $20 isn't completely out of line for the full functionality, but to be honest, i'd rather pay that $20 up front, and not have to pay $2 to evaluate the program first.
Also, neither the viewer on the iPad nor On-hand Connect on the desktop will connect to my FTP site, when Filezilla and other FTP packages have no problems with the same settings.
Five stars for functionality, one star for a crappy business model. Average 3. Fix the Pay-now-and-pay-later arrangement and it'd be a five-star app.
