What's New in VitalsDecoded
2.0.1
May 5, 2026
Patient Vitals AI 2.0.1 is a major update with full iPad support and a long list of clinician-focused improvements. iPad • Now a Universal app — runs natively on iPad Air, iPad, iPad Pro, and iPad mini. • New sidebar + detail layout on iPad: patient list on the left, full reading and analysis on the right. Optimized for landscape rounding. New features • Voice notes per reading — press and hold the mic button on any reading to dictate a clinical observation. On-device speech recognition transcribes it automatically; play, read, or delete inline. • Encrypted backup & restore — Settings → Data → Backup & Restore. Save an encrypted copy of all your patients, readings, photos, and voice notes to iCloud Drive, Files, or AirDrop, protected with a passphrase you choose. • Demo patient — first-time users can tap "Try with sample data" to explore the analysis screen instantly with a synthetic ICU patient (no Claude calls, no monitor needed). • Trend alerts — patient list now shows a red indicator on patients whose recent vitals show concerning trends (≥15% heart-rate change, SpO₂ drop, blood-pressure swing, or any critical reading). Computed locally — no API calls, no extra cost. • Health Overview PDF export — already added in 1.7. Now also: PDF export and Copy Summary from any individual reading's analysis screen. • Photo timestamp from EXIF — when you analyze a monitor photo from your library, the reading's timestamp is pre-filled from the photo's EXIF metadata. You can override before tapping Analyze. UX improvements • Color-coded vitals in the patient list — heart rate and SpO₂ go red or amber when abnormal, so red in the list always means "look here." • Search by name or room — patient list search box now searches both. • "Try Again" on a failed analysis keeps your captured photo so you don't have to retake. • Friendly timestamps — readings show "Today", "Yesterday", or the date instead of the same date format everywhere. • EKG and clinical correlation cards default to collapsed; tap to expand. • Camera framing tips — three concrete tips overlay the live preview to reduce low-confidence analyses. • Health Overview teaser appears at 1 reading, telling you exactly what unlocks at 2. • Comparison view shows the two source monitor photos side-by-side so you can visually verify the AI is comparing what you think. • Subtle haptics throughout — capture, analysis success, copy summary, abnormal vital warnings. Improvements & fixes • Faster, more reliable Cloud Functions communication; clearer error messages. • Various small UI polish and stability fixes. Patient Vitals AI is not an FDA-cleared medical device. AI output may contain errors. Always verify on the monitor.
