The Four Seasons
The Four Seasons is one of my favorite pieces of music, and it’s my favorite Baroque piece
Slightly disappointing after the 9th
My main issue is that for some strange reason I just can't fathom the developers decided not to allow commentary to be viewed when following the stave score. Why?....It's one of the main strengths of the Beethoven 9th app so why change? I just hope the app is tweaked to change this as it seems such a silly oversight.

Classical Music Rocks!
As a HUGE fan of classical music I was searching for something of classical nature, and I came across this app.
And because I love Vivaldi’s Four Seasons I bought it and upon hearing and seeing it I loved it and I recommend it to anyone that loves classical music. The way the notes go so you can follow along, the sonnets and the commentary that tells you about each section, and the music, oh the music, the way it sounds is BEAUTIFUL!!! (I emphasise the word beautiful.) So if you’re looking for an app to help study Vivaldi’s Four Seasons this is the app for you.
And because I love Vivaldi’s Four Seasons I bought it and upon hearing and seeing it I loved it and I recommend it to anyone that loves classical music. Truly wonderful, more detail every time..
This is classical music at its best. Forget for a second the music if you can. Its like a private showing with the performers. Watch, repeat and see something new. The small micro second interactions between them show how much they are enjoying the performance. This app lets you feel as if you are there. Best app ever.

Amazing Experience!!!!!
So far I would say that this is the BEST App ever made! I don’t mind the Original Version, but to me, Max Richter’s Recomposed Version is SPOT ON! It’s too bad that I have to buy the Sheet Music for this recomposed piece, but I can still listen to each of the instruments.
Unique combination of experience & critical engagement
This is a rich resource that brings a lot of pleasure from listening to the music to hearing scholars ruminate about the history and configuration of the music. Worth every penny
Could have been much better
Compared to the 9th Symphony Beethoven app, this app has more flaws which could be corrected with an update if Touchpress would do so. Although stated in the credits and sources, the reference score used in the app is NOT the one used in the recording - if only TP provided both versions then it would have been better. At many times, the animated players view (showing which chair is actively playing) is wrong and sync between the score can vary because of the adlibs done in the recorded vesion. The so-called reimagining of the four seasons is forgettable but worth a listen or two. It doesn't bring/add much as it feels like a bad imitation of the original instead.of what it was intended.

If you love the Four Seasons, this is a MUST have app. Phenomenal!
What??? Get rid of Max Richter's junk.
Max Richter's "recompose" has no place here, at all. It is not a bad piece of music, but it does not help learn or appreciate Four Seasons in any way. It is purely modern and overly synthesized. The fact that it is half the app is ridiculous. This cheap pet trick is not worthy of serious, or other, study.
Instead, how about replace it with an original composition, using the baroque instruments, and one with contemporary instrument composition. Then you could get an real better understanding of the music and how it has evolved with the changing face of symphonic composition.
Couldn't give it fewer stars, because it is one of the greatest and most popular pieces of music ever written.

Nice entertainment for Four Seasons fans but a little scant for the price
In the age of iTunes, we’ve become accustomed to being able to purchase rich and useful apps for a couple of bucks. Perhaps we’ve been a little spoiled. Because, nowadays, when I am shelling out $12 for something (about the cost of eating lunch out), I am expecting my mind to be blown.
This app follows the same pattern as the delightful Orchestra app released in December 2013 providing the user with the ability to follow the score as the music is played. For musical nerds like me, it’s a terrific pastime and helps increase my appreciation and understanding of popular classical pieces. What this app is lacking is a visual of the musicians performing the actual classical Four Seasons piece. There is footage of the Max Richter “recomposed” version (which is little more than a “new age” twist on the classical favorite…to be honest I am not crazy about it…for a piece like this that captivates the listener every time even 400 years later, why mess with it?). I have a feeling I am paying for that footage to be included and the royalties going to Mr. Richter. Hmmm…I had rather the funding been used to capture the performance of the original composition. The additional material is nice as well including text and short videos providing background on Vivaldi’s life and interpretations of his magical and groundbreaking composition.
It’s still fun to watch the score, and the “beat maps” as the music is performed via high-quality recording. i am not sure why parts of the score are missing, though. Why is there no cello nor harpsichord part included when clearly those instruments are included in the recording? Weird. All in all, it’s a nice app but feels a little scant for something with a $11 price tag. Maybe an update will include more layers making it a more comprehensive app.

A wonderful experience
I am not a huge fan of Vivaldi, even though I greatly enjoy Richter's rendition. This was indeed my initial motivation to buy this app. Boy, I was in for a treat: the design is smooth and beautiful, the content compelling, captivating and elegantly presented, and the music takes a new life with its hidden dimensions now fully revealed. Highly recommended!

An app of the highest quality
Apps of such high quality are scarce. Many app-makers would be ashamed if they witnessed all the work that has been put into this masterpiece. It is worth every penny and will keep you coming back over and over for hours at a time.
First, you get history and facts. You can read about Vivaldi’s legacy (or lack thereof) and about the composer’s rediscovery in the 20th century. You also get all the biographical elements you need to tackle the history of Vivaldi and his era. All of this is presented in text, but also through little videos.
Second, you get a detailed analysis of the Four Seasons, bit by bit. Each season is split in little pieces. You can read about the piece, sometimes listen to a little video and then you just press play to listen to the bars. All that makes for a very enlightening experience. I’ve never learned that much about a classical piece of music before. You also get the same kind of analysis of the Recomposed piece (more on that later).
Third, you get to listen to the Four Seasons with a visual beat support that enables you to see when the instruments are playing while you’re listening. You can also look at the score for each instrument, going from right to left of the screen as you are listening. I barely know how to read music but I found this to be very educational.
Fourth, you get to listen to a contemporary recomposition of the Four Seasons. You have access to all the options mentioned in the last paragraph, plus you can see the orchestra play on video (you can chose your camera angle) while you’re listening. Also, you can press on an instrument to mute the other ones so you can focus on any solo performance of your choice.
All in all, you get a lot of features. All of it has made me appreciate Vivaldi’s Four Season in a completely new light. To the point that I now realize how little I know about all the other pieces I listen to all the time. I can only wish that Touch Press will keep making such apps to enable me to get into classical music in a completely new and improved way.

Very well-done
I learned more about Vivaldi from this app than in a semester of music history and two of music literature in college. (Well, maybe if I'd paid more attention in class...)

But a little tricky to navigate. Maybe with more time I will get it, but one can never really say anything bad about the Four Seasons.
Amazing and Beautiful
This is a really fantastic app. You learn a ton about Vivaldi, the four seasons, and the music in general. I love how the score follows along with the music and it makes learning more about the music easier than ever. It's a really interactive and I have learned a lot already. The video interviews supplement the text pretty nicely. Great job, TouchPress!

Stunning app
If you are a fan of the Vivaldi Four Seasons, then I highly recommend this to you. Two great recordings in one app, the first is a traditional baroque masterpiece and the second is Max Richter's recomposed version which adds thought-provoking new dimensions played brilliantly by Daniel Hope.
Another beautifully constructed app
Once again Touch Press has done something with classical music but no one has done before. The performances of Vivaldi's Four Seasons and Max Richter's interpretation are immensely rewarding in themselves, following the model first presented in the Orchestra app. What distinguishes this app is the presentation of the story behind the original and the reinterpretation. The architecture allows the listener to approach the music from many different points of view, each intrinsically interesting. Superb!
