Absolutely essential for Amiga tracker music enthusiasts

Just brilliant for bringing back the 80’s / 90’s tracker vibe! Smooth sample imports and compatibility with Protracker make this a must for anyone with even a passing interest in tracker-based music making. Who would have believed 30 years ago that you could have this kind of power in your pocket! Huge respect to the author for the time and attention to detail building this app❤️
For the next release I would love to see the sample ‘reverse button’ in the app- and ability to add length to samples, as found on the orig Protracker. All in all though, there aren’t enough stars to do this app justice :-)

Great ideas. Sample reverse!!! How could I miss that? I will add it to the next version! 😀

gut

really great app! the only downside for me is that it does not have an external start/stop sync so i cant use it with Loopy pro and other apps that use interapp synchronisation. That small feature would really help!

Response from developer

Thanks, that is an interesting suggestion. Even more, it could be possible to export for each instrument. Will look into it!

Good but 1 big issue

I believe this software has potential, but the thing holding it back is how limited the keyboard is.

Giving it at least 3 or 4 octaves can help make the software feel less limiting, and make it better to use.

Response from developer

Thanks for your review. The limitation of the keyboard is unfortunately inherent in the Amiga mod music format. Protracker for the Amiga has the same limitation. A future version will add support for the xm format (FastTracker 2), which has more octaves and up to 32 tracks in one pattern.

Can not find VividTracker site

Hi I can not find user manual information because I can not access the vivid tracker site showing because of unsafe site. Could you tell me why VividTracker.com is treated an unsafe site?

Response from developer

Many thank you for letting me know. The certificate had expired. It works again now!

Nice!

Macht Spaß! Bug mit Toggle Edit…alt+Space bitte korrigieren.

Perfection

Best music tracker i have ever come access.I have used manny, renoise, madtracker, skale, opnmpt, octamed. This beats them all, especially if you’re an old school producer like me.

Trackers forever!

And this one brings honor to the tradition. Great fun and powerful too.

Please add the functionality to draw custom sample waveforms!

Response from developer

Sounds like a great idea! I will look into it. 😀

wonderful

Trackers forever
And this one is top tier.

Feature request: I wish I could draw my own waveforms..

Response from developer

Sounds like a great idea! I will look into it. 😀

Trackers are different!

I’ve used about every DAW out there but sometimes you just want to go old school. I had an Amiga 2000 and Octamed back in the day and having VT on my iPad certainly scratches the itch to make music tracker style. I have seen no bugs or issues with it. It works exactly as I expect and it sounds great! Who knew I’d be making MODs 30+ years later!

love this but one small issue

fantastic trad tracker

Open In unfortunately crashes the app…

Love it!

Thank you so much for this gem! I was able to find some of my old mods from the 90s via an Amiga Demo archive website and load them up in vivid. Looking forward to some new creations via this. Happy days :)

Great app please

Be so great to have some tutorial videos as the tracker workflow is very hard! But a great app and good fun!

Neat, But

If you just want to play .MOD files, you should use VLC. That’s right, VLC is on iOS and it can handle old school tracker files.

VividTracker is neat because it tries to act like the old players/editors. I like it but if all you want to do is play your files, use VLC.

Response from developer

VividTracker is not a player. It is a music creation tool for people that want to make their own Amiga music and it is advertised as such. Modizer or 4champ are good options if you just want a player.

Great Tracker!

I just wanna say it’s so nice to see this app still gets updates. It really is a good amiga tracker on iOS! Sounds great too! While i’m sad the Dropbox feature is gone, having files exported from Apple’s Cloud save is a good alternative

Sample offset?

Ich vermisse ein menü, bei der ich die sampleposition bestimmen kann.
Sonst eine super Umsetzung vom protracker, soweit ich mich erinnern kann.

Amazing

Now I can make mods on the go!
But one problem, every time I try to save a vtm it says I can't store it in the location. Help?
Cheers.

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback. I have fixed this issue with the new browser. I hope it helps.

Needs work, but is really good

Less intimidating and cheaper than anything else on the market. Always did like that trackers helped you focus on rhythm than on waveforms. Proper musicians start with sheet music. Many a tune was engineered on a tracker, even if real hardware™ was used to produce it. Needs a few adjustments for user friendliness (switch screens 3 and 5!), and could use the ability to export to PCM and a menu for editing options, like for interpolation, Hz, and colors. PS, it can't handle some of the more advanced techniques that mods like Hoffman's "generator.” I think it’s that double sample offset that causes it.

Response from developer

Thanks for your comments. Switching screen 3 and 5 is a good idea, I will take a look at it. A menu for changing colours would be nice too. I downloaded Hoffman's "generator" and you are correct; something is not working the way it should. I will compare the sound with Protracker 2.3d on my Amiga 1200, then fix this problem.

11/10

Absolute gem, now I can make Amiga junglism on the go! Thankyou.

Great Tracker, but missing some things.

I love this old school tracker. But I have a couple of requests for features.
1. The ability to sort that mod file list into alphabetical order. I seriously don’t know what method the app uses to sort mods, but they seem to be sorted randomly, making it difficult to find tunes you want if you have a lot of files.
2. I really think, in addition to being able to load samples from other mods, it would be really nice to create a folder where we could just put our own sounds, instead of having to use a mod editor on a pc to load sounds into a mod file, and then upload the thing. It would remove a step and make things a lot easier. I have an extensive library of samples that I use for making my tracker music, and I would really appreciate the ease of just...uploading samples straight into a folder on my iPhone to use with VividTracker. Putting all those samples into mod files and then uploading the mod files to my iPhone is a time consuming pain compared to the ability to just... upload the samples themselves.
Other than those two complaints, I love this tracker and would like to see further development on it.

A new file browser is coming in the next version that will solve these issues. 😀
