Insane that the keyboard doesn’t disappear when searching
Literally can’t play stuff when it’s at the bottom of the list as the keyboard doesn’t disappear when you’re done searching (so my files are hidden under it, and I can’t scroll down to them).
Also it’s crazy to not have a + or - 15-30 second feature in 2025

Streamer Pro is Great but Helper App on Mac Crashes
VLC Streamer Helper (both versions 5.25 and 5.12) crash during conversion process on Mac. This seems to be a recent development (within last three months).

Takes forever to convert video files
I’ve been waiting 2-3 hours already to convert the videos on my laptop so I can play them on my iPad.
A fantastic app
This is a fantastic app on so many levels - it does far more than I expected
Cannot load files or open them
This vlc is inscrutable on the ipad. I see none of the menus shown in the windows version. I cannot open files if i want to, unless the playvlc comes up for some for some reason i cannot figure out.

Great app, but some bugs
From time to time the app won’t airplay from my iPhone 12 on iOS 14.6 to my Apple TV 3rd gen, software version 7.8.
Not sure if this is because phones new compared to the tv.
I can’t remember what seems to bork it, but the only way to fix it is to reinstall the app.

Still the best, if sometimes flawed
This is the best streaming app in terms of functionality I’ve found on iPhone. GoodPlayer, “real” VLC, etc have interesting features and potentially easier setup but get bogged down with weird buffering problems, or bizarre interface choices. VLC streamer works way more often than others and it has great interface customization
Search can be a bit iffy if your library gets large, but the tagging system is solid.
Would love to see search work with larger libraries (or for the keyboard to dismiss reliably) but again it’s a trivial problem.
The need to preprocess videos is a small price for them to reliably work on the phone and the access control via a simple password is helpful.
Bottom line: it works!

Customer Support is Non-responsive
Customer support won’t answer email. Frustrating app and service. When this streamer “converts” files to stream it creates a redundant file somewhere on the C: drive. This causes one movie to take up twice the amount of space. The reason we’re emailing them is to find out where the converted files are going, as we can’t find them other-than the “app-roaming” folder which seems like the converted files are stuck in limbo and can’t figure out why the streamer is doing this. Hobbyist Software will not respond to this issue via email.

Museum app
App does not work as a standalone iOS VLC app. It requires a pc/mac host to function. Not even close to feature dense as the real free to download open source and buggy vlc player currently on the store.

複数の音声トラックが付いた動画を入れるとメインではなく副音声の方が流れる。アプリ側では変更など出来ないので使えない。
課金してまで購入したのにこれでは意味がない。返金して欲しいくらいだ。

Worth Going Pro
I rarely spring for the pro version of any free app, even when cheap, but this one is totally deserving and worth it.
