What's New in Vocalize AI
3.1.0
August 18, 2026
LIVE NOTES — FOR MEETINGS YOU CAN'T RECORD Some meetings can't be recorded. Legal, HR, healthcare, or simply someone in the room who says no. Live Notes transcribes what's said as it's said and keeps only the text. No audio file is ever written to your device — not saved and deleted afterwards, never created at all. You get the transcript, the AI summary, and searchable notes, with nothing to hand over. Find it under the + button: "Live Notes (Transcript Only)". Live Notes appear in your library with a NO AUDIO badge so you can always tell which meetings were captured this way. TRANSCRIPTION NOW STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE — ALWAYS We found that transcription could fall back to Apple's speech servers when an on-device model wasn't ready. That isn't what we promise, so we changed the app rather than the promise. On-device transcription is now required. If it isn't available for your language, we tell you instead of uploading anything. If you'd rather have transcription than the guarantee, you can turn the fallback on yourself in Settings > Capture & Reading. It's off unless you choose it. FIXED - Daily Review on iPad: the Review tab showed an empty list even when you had highlights waiting. It works now. - The Daily Review widget is now available on iOS 26.2 and 26.3, not just 26.4 and later. - Ask no longer errors when you paste a long passage instead of typing a short question. - The record button now starts a new recording after you discard a take, instead of doing nothing. - Saving a recording no longer clears the folder or search you were looking at. ALSO NEW - Live transcription while recording: watch the transcript appear as you speak. Settings > Recording. Off by default. - Faster, more accurate on-device transcription, rebuilt on Apple's current speech framework. - AI Processing setting: see and control where AI runs, with a badge on every answer showing how it was produced. - Optional usage statistics you can inspect, in Settings > Usage Data. Off by default. No content, ever. As always: everything runs on your device.
