IMPORTANT for Newbies
This App "Prior" to the latest update in early August was the absolute best app out their. Always quickly recognized your question and was quick to reply. In soo many ways this app by far exceeded the capabilities of Apples own "Siri". I paid $9.99 when this app first came out and believe it was worth a lot more. As of today, this version is NOT functioning as described by the developer on any iOS device. However, the previous version-if you didn't update is operating flawlessly. I've contacted the developer 3 weeks ago, they replied back that the issue would be resolved in 7 days. Its been almost a month and no fix yet. To be fair, and in hopes of getting the developers attention, I am leaving 5 stars based on what this App was prior to the recent update. PLEASE FIX SOON!!!

Hi I have an iPod touch and this app is very helpfully because I don't have siri. However I think that the apps user interface could use some work, the app it's self is great works great and was defiantly what I need on my iPod. To other iPod touch or iPhone users if you want to turn your iPod into a phone get this free app called pinger, I use it and I LUV it! I have completely changed my iPod touch into a iPhone now, with the 2 apps if you want more info just search for it in the app store. And no I don't work for pinger. :) I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews!!!!

YOU'VE RUINED THIS APP WITH THE 2.0.1 UPDATE!!!!!
This app used to be wonderful, & very helpful. It used to answer your questions, obey commands, etc.
Now it does NOTHING but give you lip & a bad attitude!!!!! Before the update, if you ask "What are the 7 wonders of the world?" It would look it up & give you the correct answer. Now all it does is ask why you want to know or tells you to use an internet browser.
What were you people thinking when you "updated" the software??? You've ruined a once great program!
If I knew how to remove this update & go back to the last version, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I have an iPad 2 & a 4th gen iTouch. This new version is on my iPad now, & I don't want to update the iTouch because it will ruin the program on that one too if I do.
I'm very disappointed!!! Updates should IMPROVE an app... NOT make it WORSE!

It the best
This new updates makes it better and better
Ok i'm not going to lie at first this app was crap with the other updates, but after each update it got better and after this new update it realy got good. I use this app all the time, it's not as good as siri, but it's the best things you can get, esecpt getting the atual siri. And for 4 bucks it may seem a lot buts it worth every penny belive me. All in all this app is realy good.

Ok now...
Like many people this app would NOT work but after deleting & installing again, it now seems to be ok. It ALSO works with wifi or data regardless of what others say I like the fact that it sets reminders, times, open apps, has learned my name and so on. I have been a long time user of Evi and have always loved it & still do but it has not learned to the things I mentioned above accept it knows your name if imputed in settings. Hope Evi will learn these things soon & it's only 99 cents and worth it. Both are good apps !!

Nothing better
So i bought this app in the early version and it sucked. But every time I updated it, it just got better and better. Now it is probably in its golden age. They, the creators, know what they're doing now instead of just hoping that the update won't turn out to be a failure.
It is really fast and really fun to use. I recommend you buy this app. It is really helpful. For example, I could tell it to remind me to wash my clothes at noon, or I can tell it to remind me to pick up groceries at 3 PM. You should definitely buy this app.

Works for me.
Been using this app for a week, and I'm not sure why so many people are having issues with it. I bought it to make hands-free reminders because I got tired of having to manually input mundane reminders to "take dog out at 3pm" or "pick laundry up in an hour." I use this app throughout the day to make reminders like the following:
"Remind me to pick up my kid in 2 hours."; "Set timer for 45 minutes."; and "Remind me to meet friend at 5pm." It's cool that it creates an event in the native calender. I only wish it would update my Google calender as well.
I wouldn't use it set an important alarm or appointment, though, because whenever I told it to wake me up the following day, it wouldn't and instead create an alarm for the present morning (thus defeating the whole purpose of a wake-up alarm!).
I find it to be quicker at sending text messages and emails than Vlingo, although it is not as accurate as Vlingo. So there is some tradeoff.
Overall, I'm happy with paying $3.99 for this app. I got tired of always borrowing my wife's 4S to make constant reminders with Siri.

Ok app!
This app is very good! I understand it is still a beta but I think this app will get a lot better. Jeannie does all the things she is supposed too! The only problems I found: I said what is 2+56, she said it was four? Sometime I want to text someone and I say the message but in didn't send? I asked what the distance was to the sun and she looked in my contacts? Lastly, she doesn't remember names! Overall, this is one of my favorite apps! I think she will get better and maybe lower the price! Hope to see updates soon!

Ruined my iPhone
You ask Jeanie a question (her name like Siri) and instead of answering you get some terrible answer like, "I'm glad you see it that way" or a not even close answer, example. What is the human body temperature supposed to be at in fahrenheit and you get an answer like, "today is 80 degrees slightly cloudy" and then u get asked questions like, "do u have children?" or, "where do u live?" like its doing recon on you, but that's not even the worst part as soon as i bought this app my phone started tweaking out I go to write a text and I'll press a letter and the keypad freaks out and I can't type or it types random commas or numbers. I try to click on iPod app and my browser comes up and starts switching between different tabs I have up. My lock screen only opens once in 3 or 4 attempts. This app ruined my phone and now I'm going to apple to complain please don't buy this app until they fix the bugs or else you could end up like me, missing work calls constantly! Losing data! Mad girlfriend!

Confused
I have been riding the waves with this app for quite sometime. Every update gives and takes. It's starting to get extremely annoying. Text messaging was something that worked properly in the beginning, but the last two updates has hampered a feature that cheaper apps can provide successfully. Now, when you want text a contact the app lists your whole contact list and proceeds to naming off each one, so you can choose. Annoying. Please fix this bug.
Overall this app is good and the closest alternative to Siri for old iPhone users.

Update working so far
Version 2.0 seems to have the bugs worked out. Compared to what else is out there....it's not bad. It actually sets reminders even though they do show up on the calendar.....still works great. Sent text and email without any issues. Located everything fine......maybe finally you guys got your act together.....nice job.

It works but needs improving
It works for the basics of what I need. However preferences for events and alarms would be nice, and calendar and real alarm integration would be awesome. Reminders work quite well, but if you close the app and reopen then it won't say you have any reminders if you ask. It will still bring the reminder up later though as it should. The dictation is pretty good and chatting with it can be fun. Please open web based stuff in an internal web view, opening in safari is annoying. Please fix these small things and I will rate 5 stars!! Sorry for the long review.

It's Not Too Special
It doesn't do anything that Google, Vlingo, and the voice dial capability of my iPhone already does. In fact, using Vlingo to dictate a text or email is more reliable. This app keeps telling me the person I want to text, email, or call is not in my contacts list...but they are! Anyway, it is handy if I need to know Obama's age. So, it does live up to the example given in the description. But for $5, I could scan Wikipedia for the answer If I could rely on it to text, email, and voice dial, I would give it a 5+. Having those three capabilities rolled up with a Google type voice search capability in one app would be sweet. So far though...it's hit or miss right now. Mostly miss.

Hopeless in USA, Worse in UK
Purchased US version for iphone and UK version for business iPad and I've got to say that it appears that its so bad in the UK that they have withdrawn it already..(2 weeks after buying it for £3.00) and according to their curt reply to my email they may offer it again at some stage if they come up with an update. No apology for the problems, just a terse "interesting email" answer.
The US version (another $5.00) is acting like a demented parrot at the moment and when asking it to send a text it asks what you want to say, waits a second and then keeps repeating the same question. It also hangs at key times and the voice thinks she is called "Telephone" for some reason (although i suppose that's her prerogative). She also starting giving answers in German last night which was a first and later when I asked "The time in China" she educated me on the virtues of keeping homing pigeons..Mmmmm.
Altogether a contender for the most expensive and worst international app of the year so far. Please keep your money.

This needs tweaking
I have had this app since the early release and I'm happy with it but the stability of the app needs some work.
Name features work now and that's pretty cool. (you can give the bot a name and she will remember yours.)
Search works great, asking questions works rather well.
I'm having a problem sending text since the last update. After telling the app to text, it asks "what would you like to say" but when I say it, it just flashes and remains at the voice que.

Not too bad
App started crashing on me This morning but I still like it. Funnier and friendlier then Evi, more personal then Vlingo. Not as much of a prude as Siri. I recommend for an update: recent history list, an info button that might take you to the chat/retry page, other options and settings welcome. Add a recent list and polish the look a little and you get five stars and a happy customer for life! Even when I upgrade she is coming to my new phone, so she can teach Siri a thing or two.

I like it, i mean i can talk to my ipod, i can use it for a lot of different things. It needs an update but i'm satisfied. The only thing is, well i think you can figure it out i mean it 5 dollars! You should get it though. 4 stars

Good app, has potential to be alot better
This app so far seems to work ok. I've only used it for a couple of days, but so far I have no big issues against it. I would like to see some kind of settings adjustment or something. Maybe a section where we could insert frequently used names or action, or apps we wanna use with it.
It would be nice if the voice wasn't so "robotic".
I also think that at the stage this app is at, $4.99 is too much considering the improvements that can be done to enhance this program.
I'll be looking forward to updates, hopefully SOONER than later 😊

Minimal controls, Minimal options!
Disappointing. It seems to have worked better when I first installed it. Jeannie doesn't understand much. There are no guidelines for how to made commands. So you have to guess. You can add simple calendar reminders or open up a program, play a song from your favorite artist, but cannot choose which song, yada yada yada. There are no controls aside from tapping the mic and waiting for a response. It might offer a google search or chat, but it's misleading to suggest you can control the phone with your voice. Right now it is gimmicky at best. I need voice activated controls/personal assistance because my hands are not well and it is painful to press the buttons or swipe the screen incessantly. Software geniuses we need your help! FIX THIS!!!!

Good App With Great Potential
This is a good replacement for Siri (if you don't have a 4s). This app does almost everything Siri can do. The only complaint I have is that the voice's speeh can be slurred and the subtitles at the top can be completely wrong. This gets annoying when you're in the car driving and you want to use hands free technology. Other than that it hasn't crashed, it does almost everything that Siri does and is at a pretty fair price. Good app, has great potential, keep the updates coming.
