Addictive Gameplay

Finished runs with the knight and the werewolf. Found the gameplay really unique and fun. Visually pleasing as well. Music is really nice. Thinking about purchasing the full game to try and 100% the game. Even though the game has a minor bug with combat glitches, I would recommend this game.

Sympa mais bug

Jeu très sympa, fini avec l’elfe et plusieurs trophées obtenus.

Par contre il y a un bug avec la relique qui met 10 dégâts en cas de combinaison AQ, le monstre reste en vie et le jeu se bloque

Battery drain

Fun game, but it consumes too much battery (playing on iPhone 15 pro). The tutorial does not explain the bonus cards, and I am still not very clear on how to use them properly.

want to love it, can’t

poker roguelikes are a delight a dozen, but the simplistic nature of this one, crossed with the punishing nature of entirely random amulets (whose effects you can’t see till they’re locked to you) and only getting one round of replacements for a five card hand, makes the game feel entirely random (especially since pairs of numbers barely count as a hand)

it also bugs out quite frequently, leaving you randomly unable to defeat enemies. interesting bones, I quite like the number-pair amulets but the execution is lacking

Love the idea, too difficult

I love this game it's so cool! But the inaccessibility of game items like food for healing makes the game to difficult. This becomes frustrating because the game gets repetitive and unfair if you keep pulling bad hands (which I tend to do), and you cannot get far enough even using the shields and daggers. I never have enough gold by the time I reach a settlement so I don't get to buy food. Maybe I'm just bad at it?? Or confused. But I do believe there should be more early-game health items to keep players engaged, otherwise it just becomes a "deal cards" sim. I love it though, I see a lot of fun potential, I gave five stars because I want the game's rating to go up so more people play it it's fun and I'd like to see updates in the future.

Game has so much potential…but…

This game could be absolutely fantastic, but some bugs have made the game unplayable. When an enemy is defeated with an amulet, the game stops working entirely and you’re stuck redrawing cards indefinitely. There’s also a bug where the game freezes sometimes after accepting the werewolf’s curse. Love the game, but hoping the devs make some much needed fixes to those mechanics.

I’m an Avid Video Poker Player, This Game Ain’t It…

The game falls short of what it could be.

1. Statistics are incoherent? Playing by the book says to hold low card pairs when that’s all there is. I held pairs and out of the 100 times never got a three of a kind… and I thought I had bad luck… BUT THEN I held a low pair and burned a 10 of clubs only to draw a… 10 of clubs! This implies it’s truly not random or there is more than 1 deck… which wouldn’t make sense? I believe it might be improperly coded.

2. Progression is horrible?: as a player I know “perfect video poker strategy” and applied this. Out of all the runs I did the furthest I got was the 3rd or 4th enemy? It was insanely underwhelming for playing perfectly… so what happens to someone without the memorized strategy?

3. The game mechanics are broken…: the tutorial states “your bonus power cards count as Aces!” I had a low 8’s pair and played the 2 power cards along with them to have a two pair (2 A’s and 2 8’s) it said “your low card pair did 0 damage” implying it only registered the 8’s. So then the power cards aren’t coded as anything unless another A is on board? Because they should at least have acted as a pair together…

The game has many more flaws and I’d love to write them out for the team to fix but I’m tired.

Don’t be discouraged Dev’s! You had a good idea, just the scaling, coding, execution, and gameplay fall short… but the graphics are cool!

You have nothing: the game.

Fun game but I must be the unluckiest person in the world on those poker hands. There is a bug I’ve noticed with the combination amulets that do damage when you have 2 specific cards. If it kills an enemy, the game is stuck. The enemy won’t attack because I guess it’s at 0 and dead. But it doesn’t progress to the next enemy. You also don’t do anymore damage. You have to close the app and reopen. It puts you back where you left off to fight that enemy again, but the RNG on the draws are different so you may not win again. It’s caused a few deaths when I had beaten the enemy it happened on before the restart, so it’s annoying.

Really cool idea but…

I really want to like this game but playing the tutorial felt like it didn’t explain a lot of the mechanics. Several times my bonus cards wouldn’t work or count for pairs and I didn’t know why. Not sure if it was a bug or lack of understanding on my part and that’s never a good feeling. Potential is there for a very cool experience if these issues are sorted out.

Also I noticed some bad reviews because of it but I love the UI design, the slide is cool and unique!

Drop the Slider

Awesome game but the slider control just slows it down and takes way from gameplay.

Replace that with a button and it would be awesome…

Slider sucks

The game has potential but we have to use a slider all the time instead of a button for some reason…

Lots of fun!

Title says it all

Fun but some things don’t seem to work

I appreciate the developer giving a full trial run for free, and the fair monetizing for the full game if you like it, with no ads or data collection. That is to be applauded. The design is cool too and I like the concept.

But there seems to be issues, or they’re not explained. For example, just before level 10, I got an item that said it would protect you from dying once. So I bought it, and then clicked on it before playing the boss. And I died. It didn’t protect me from dying and give me another chance. This happened to me in two runs. I deleted the game after that.

I do wish the file size were smaller, though it’s ok. And it seems like too many hands end up being “nothing” no matter what you do. So I found it frustrating, especially when an item that was supposed to save my life didn’t.

Other people may really like it though. But be sure to read the whole Codex section or you’ll miss some important info. I really wanted to like this, but it seemed a bit hard, and if items don’t work and you don’t earn many gems, you can’t advance easily. In all my plays I earned one gem, only once. Which isn’t enough to buy an upgrade.

Anyway, try it, it is cool, maybe you won’t run into the same issues.

Push button

Need a push button, the slide isn’t fun. A ton of comments on reddit about this. Would like to hear the devs response, game has tons of potential.

Doesn’t register hands

Constantly not registering hands is a deal breaker for me. Specially, pairs….

If this gets updated, I’ll try the game again and update my review.

Cool so far, but doesn’t always recognize a single pair?

Enjoying the game so far, still early stages. Sometimes I’ll have a single pair, though, and the game will say I have nothing. Kind of frustrating

Five Card Draw RPG

I was a fan of the handheld video poker games in the 90's. Very basic but fun for hours. This is the RPG twist on that five card draw style of poker. There is quite a lot to the game and the vast majority of features require unlocking through play and achievements. You can play the main mode as much as you like with the starting class for free. Inside the game there is a codex going over the game's features and mechanics, allowing you to really see what is offered before buying or even investing much time. The stat tracking is excellent if you are into that kind of thing. If you buy the game you will have access to several more modes as well as other classes and a daily leaderboard. The music is pretty awesome and fits the 90's vibe perfectly.
