Can’t get it to work!
Works ok if voipfone app open but otherwise doesn’t ring! All settings look ok (allow background operation etc.) eventually get a notification minutes after call - unusable
Office calls, out and about
Does what I need, would like visual voicemail!!
Bad
Crashes all the time, very unstable
Worst thing ever
Scam never works
Latest update re-orders contacts, not good news!
The latest update re-orders contacts, which is not good news if you had them ordered by first name. We have several contacts where it is company names as well and they are now all ordered by ‘surname’ with no way of changing back.
Please resolve so that they mirror the Apple contacts (ie A-Z by first name).
New update has left our contacts all over the place. Thanks

Basic
Works fine with no issues, but guys, hire a designer! Looks like it was designed in the 90s and not in a good retro way. Same goes for the website. Clearly no design or UX people involved.
Not always working
Was missing calls and the app haven’t been notifying unless when I’ve opened it. Having quiet a few issues lately with all the services/lines on the platform. Bummer
Appalling
The app is rubbish. Calls keep coming through when you’re on the phone. Quality is crap and you have to reset the app every time you want to use it. You spend more time faffing around with this app than actually working.
Full review - good connections - weak passwords - read their terms
Serious points first, positives follow.
Security: On VoIPFone account creation the system generates you a six digit numerical (ie: 123456) password as standard for the web interface login and your VOIP phone line. Which nowadays is considered insecure (12 digit numbers, letters and symbols are a good standard).
But don’t worry, their terms and conditions have you covered. No wait scratch that, reverse it! To quote their current terms: "The customer is responsible for all persons who use their username and password to access the service, whether authorised or not."
So change your password to a secure protocol!
However...
This is not possible in the web UI (nor is removing your bank card in payments area).
You can change your password over the phone on their support line....
But not at the weekend! So don’t get hacked at the weekend.
To conclude. The web UI does not give enough security control to the customer, yet state it as a liability in the terms.
The terms are rather one sided and bias the supplier. However. Probably questionable in a court of law.
Those serious issues aside, you could do much worse for a VOIP call connection.
They do respond to customer emails and the connections are good.
I’d say once they sort out their generic weak password issues. Give you control of your password and card info in the web UI, they’ll have reached a decent level of security and positive customer experience.
Their terms and conditions could definitely do with a review.
Hope this has been helpful to end users of VoIP.
- I look forward to emending this review on their addressing of the security and UI issues.

Major issues with call dropouts
Long term customer of Voipfone who are generally excellent and very helpful. I use the Softphone when working (trying to work!) from home. However- this app is really not good. Calls dropout, connection to WiFi fades. Support told me it was a local problem to me (suggestion was it might be eg the microwave interfering!). This is simply not the case and no other voip style calls I use suffer from these issues. Is this an issue with the latest iPhone or iOS?

I failed...
Sadly after spending several hours trying to get this product working I gave up.
Basically I suspect it is a good product. However the setup process is confusing.
Despite the noble efforts of the online chat help team we never got it to work. Why? They say the problem is voip with my router. But other voip products like Skype work fine.
In conclusion I am just disappointed. If only the developers could make the installation and setup simple then they would have a great product. But they haven’t.

The best I found
I have been with Voipfone 4 years. It am not an ideal customer running a web company from Thailand utilising Uk mobile number and Brighton SIP number. I have basic WIFI no special config. I also roam on Thai Sim + Esim on iPhone XS.
This just works, technically great where many other apps have failed and caused pain trying to sort issues.
Voipfone support is impressive makes other telephone companies look stupid..

Lagging behind
The developers of this app are very slow to make this app compatible with major iOS updates making it impractical and frustrating to use.
All calls come through speakerphone issue
Since the last time this app was updated all calls are coming through the speakerphone even when not selected. Can’t get calls to come through normally on latest version of ios on iphone 6s.
Very basic
No option to transfer to another extension or any other standard options.
Also no way to disable the account when back to the physical office phone!
BLF (presence) would be a huge bonus too.
On the bright side the calls never drop and the quality is decent.

Turn it off?
No matter what I do can’t mute it!
If I’m on a day off have to delete the account. Any advice?
Other than that it’s great!

iOS 10 app no longer working
This app was by far the best out there but with the latest iOS 10 release it is no longer working. Call notifications on lock screen does not work. Please fix ASAP and will upgrade to 5 star!
Awesome App - Basic Features
If you have a Voipfone account then this is a great app if you just want to receive call. You can not transfer nor record. But it does what it says on the tin.
