New update broke my sync
I still have connectivity via Bluetooth and CarPlay works but I cannot sync to the vehicle. I have no vehicle data and It just shows a blank screen.
Edit: I have no idea why but have had to re register is a primary user to fix the problem?

Frequently desyncs
Mostly works ok but I have frequent problems with the app not showing the car’s location and syncing data from the car such as charge and remote locking. All despite good signal for car and phone. Many others have reported issues online and any fix only seems to last a few days. Really needs sorting

Dreadful
So much basic functionality missing.
Can’t open / close the windows.
No option to use phone as a key.
No internal temperature.
Can’t view the cameras.
Can’t open/close the boot.
Can’t flash the lights or sound the horn.
ID7 is a great car but so let down by the software and app.

Gut mit Luft nach oben
Die App ist generell gut gemacht und erfüllt ihren Zweck. Manchmal scheint sie in meinem Fall (neuer ID.4 Ende 2025) zu vergessen dass ich ein E-Auto fahre und zeigt mir Tankstellen an statt Ladesäulen. Manchmal sind meine eingespeicherten POI (zu Hause / Arbeit) nicht angezeigt. Und das Wichtigste: Wenn ich die Routenplanung nutze und eine Route mit Ladestopp ans Auto sende, dann wird der Ladestopp einfach entfernt - das Auto navigiert immer zum letzten Ziel, alles dazwischen ist weg. Es ist also witzlos die Routenplanung in der App zu nutzen bzw. einen Zielladestand anzugeben. Ich mache jedes Update für App und Auto-Software, aber diese Problem bleibt bis heute. Auch Face ID funktioniert gar nicht (neues iPhone aus 2025), man muss zum Entsperren via App immer die PIN eingeben. Das Vorheizen/kühlen funktioniert allerdings gut. Auch die ChatGPT Funktion ist sehr gut (aber warum nicht Mistral als EU Alternative nutzen?). Ich werde mir alternative Software für die Routenplanung ansehen und CarPlay oder Android Auto nutzen.

ID.5 GTX : un vrai plaisir au quotidien
Après plusieurs mois d’utilisation, je suis vraiment très satisfait de mon ID.5 GTX. Le confort est excellent, le silence de conduite est bluffant et les performances sont largement au rendez-vous. Les accélérations sont franches et la transmission intégrale apporte un vrai plus, notamment sous la pluie.
L’autonomie est conforme à ce que j’attendais, avec une recharge simple au quotidien. L’habitacle est spacieux, agréable et la voiture est très confortable, même sur de longs trajets.
L’application Volkswagen est pratique pour suivre la charge, programmer la climatisation et gérer le véhicule à distance.
Quelques petits points pourraient encore être améliorés, comme la réactivité de certains menus de l’infodivertissement ou quelques fonctions de l’application, mais rien qui gâche l’expérience.
Au final, c’est une voiture que je recommande sans hésiter à ceux qui cherchent un SUV électrique performant, confortable et agréable à conduire.

Terrible decision. I won’t buy another VW group car since they limit access to my car and data. EDIT: this is nothing to do with 3rd parties VW. This is you stopping customers accessing simple data of their vehicle with an app of their choice.

Wir nutzen die App mit unserem ID.4. Für uns im Alltag sind eigentlich nur zwei Funktionen relevant, die bringen dafür aber einen echten Mehrwert. Vorklimatisierten und Ladestand überprüfen mit entsprechenden Push Nachrichten. Das funktioniert auch ok, und wird häufig von uns genutzt. Was ich nicht verstehe: Warum man immer in zwei Menüs muss und viele Schritte benötigt. Mich ärgert immer, dass wenn das Auto lädt und man wegen einer längeren Fahrt mal auf 100% Laden will: Einstellungen, Slider Verschieben, Speichern, Zurück drücken muss. Warum gibts nicht einfach in der Ladekachel oder im Ladeslide Up zwei drei Buttons: 60%,80%,100%. Dann wären es nur ein Klick das Ladeziel auf 100% hoch zu stellen für diese Ladung? Auch bei der Klimatisierung: es gibt nicht einfach Start, und dann kann ich eine andere Temperatur wählen, sondern ich muss die Klima Kachel anwählen und nochmal Start drücken. Zur Routenplanung etc. kann ich nichts sagen, außer das ABRP, Apple Karten, und Google Maps so viel besser sind, dass ich nach einem Versuch nie den Wunsch hatte die VW Navigation zu nutzen (Software 3.9 im ID). Auch hier sind es zu viele Klicks.

I use this everyday
I tend to use the lock/unlock feature the most when it works. I find this convenient on the transporter. I also like the vehicle fuel level and driving data
I’m impressed
This is my first car that I can partially control with a mobile app. I’m impressed.
New update
Since I’ve updated the app my charge % and mileage disappear so have to close and re open the app at least 2/3 times before it re appears. Also my charge keeps on cutting out
Pointless & Unhelpful
My car was stolen with keys. I had this app giving me updates on ‘vehicle status’ with things like tyre pressure and oil.. and even the ability to lock/unlock remotely.
This demonstrates connectivity between the car and VW servers.. HOWEVER, VW would not share last known location with me OR the UK Police.!!
Other manufacturers do this as routine.
Thanks VW. I won’t be buying anything else from you.

Never again
Removed API support so integrations like Home Assistant no longer work. Makes it unusable now with my connected home. Coupled with lack of software upgrades, makes this the first and last I’ll deal with VAG.
Useful when it works
It’s great until the update now I can’t see the battery status and neither can my home charger which means it doesn’t know how much to charge to
VW functional
The VW is very functional and basic - the app does not really bring much car functionality - for example remote control or even ability to change car setting from the app. It’s good at charge levels, car condition etc but it seems very basic when I compare it with what other apps can do today. I hope updates will continue to add more capability

Missing Apple Watch App
Coming from a Mercedes, this app is not finished. Missing settings, options, option to delete things or amend things, like a home address, place of work, but most importantly, I can’t see the battery charge in my watch anymore, or lock / unlock my car. Gutted.
Rubbish
If only VW had spent 1% of the time and effort developing this app as they did fiddling their emissions data then perhaps it would have been usable. Fun fact on my iPad to verify my id it tried to take pictures of my licence as a mirror image. If it’s any consolation the android version of this app is just as bad.
