Not sure what is worse the controller or the app
Controller worked great for about 1yr, then it just decided it wasn’t gonna follow the schedule that was programmed into. Trying to use the app to update or fix the schedule is even more worthless. Most of the time the app can’t find the controller (when I’m literally standing right next to it). The “help” gives an outdated pdf (that you can’t even print) which provides laughable correction steps like delete and reinstall the app on a different device. Are you kidding me? Hire some real developers and engineers and fix the problem or discontinue your product. So frustrating!

Avoid
Always a problem when there is thunderstorm: does not reset automatically as promised. Only the installation pdf comes up when “help” button pressed and it instructs me to unplug snd open unit! What-mine is closed with a dozen screws ! Expensive unit and app is totally worthless!

Th app works Infrequently
Settings change sporadically. Lights don’t go on. Or are always on. With no reason. There is little control offered by the app. Very very frustrating. I’d chose differently if I had to chose again.
Avoid this app and Vista lighting transformers
Every other review is correct. This app just blows. And since it is the only way to program the Vista vPro outdoor lighting transformer, the vPro also blows. Avoid. Here are the issues
* Core functionality is broken. It seems like exiting the app turns the lights on. The step function, a cool test mode that simulates the passage of time so you can see the lights follow their programming, flat our doesn’t work.
* Interface is difficult to use even for an experienced and patient user.
* So-called ‘Help’ function is a link to PDFs of the install sheet
* The system works with a completely open bluetooth network. No security, no linking of devices. Just move near the box with your phone (or any device) and it sets up a bluetooth connection. Really.
I’m returning my Vista vPro today. You really have to wonder what else a company that did such a slipshod job with the software necessary to operate their device got wrong.

Big security hole
It’s inexplicable that the basis of vPro system operation is a completely open Bluetooth network. Any mischievous party with the app can mess with schedule and voltage settings.
The only way to “secure” the system is installing the transformer somewhere on the property out of Bluetooth range from any other neighbour and away from the street.
The transformer itself is rock-solid and Vista’s warranty is good.

This app and lighting system is absolute crap...
it’s never worked properly- I probably should have install my own lighting system & I have no idea how to do it - but I believe it would have worked as well as VPro doesn’t... Buyer’s remorse - the review is forcing me to rate this app/system - I’d rate it zero stars

So far so so
I like the concept. It works okay when it connects. The blue tooth signal is sketchy. You have to almost be standing on top of it to stay connected. The response/lag time is slow and choppy. If I dim or raise the lights in the app, it takes a while for the lights to catch up. This has the potential to be a pretty amazing app. I hope the developer continues to improve the quality.

Poor design
Not very user friendly. I have the 2 zone model. I have mosquito repellent linked to one zone and lights to the other. Both zones have to have a program. I should be able to program 1 zone only and leave one manual. Both zones have to run. I’ll turn lights off, shut the app down and the lights turn on. Very confusing. Needs a total revamp. Call me, I’ll help!

One bug
On iOS 11.0.3. Installed 11/9/17. Dual zone setup, 150watt, 15v. Worked as described first time. Only issue I have is one bug in app: when you select “Exactly at sunrise” for lights off, it changes the lights on to “Exactly at sunset”.
Would also be nice to have a “Do not turn on” choice if for whatever reason you don’t want lights to come on.
I only use the Nightly schedule, but the Sun/Mon, Mon/Tues, etc, scheduling seems a bit odd.

Terrible Interface
I can connect and control the lighting but this is perhaps the worst user interface I've ever used in an iPhone app. It needs to be completely rewritten. The controls that need to be on the same screen are not on the same screen and setting up a preset is simply impossible in my experience.
Unable to connect
We have the Visto vPro-75X2 since May 2017. Using iPhone 6 with iOS 10 and unable to connect to the unit. When opening the app I can see the location but cannot connect to it. I use around 8 or so other Bluetooth devices without any issues. My wife's phone (same as mine) worked initially and then 1 month later it stopped connecting just like mine. I called tech support and they suggested to swap the transformer. I just installed the new transformer and running into the same issue. For a $400 transformer this is very disappointing. Not sure what to do next. Might have to return the transformer and get a different manufacturer (Unique maybe)

Arrrrrrgh!!!!! Stopped working
This app used to kick a&$, but since around November of 2016 has been crashing!! It sees signal to my unit, then loses connection.

As soon as I went to iOS 10 on iPhone and iPad, the app loads no locations. Please help with an update.

Don't buy the vPRO 150 transformer. The only way to configure it is through the app and the app is total garbage. It just doesn't work. It frequently disconnects from the transformer requiring you to plug/unplug the transformer. The timer settings don't work either.

The app will connect to the Bluetooth transformer for the lighting but it will not control it. I can't dim the lights or turn them on or off. Because my outdoor lights can only be dimmed through this app, I am stranded unless this app is fixed.

Once set up properly this app and transformer work great together. It really needs a longer Bluetooth range because my clients want to be able to access in their home or pulling into their driveway, not only directly next to transformer to set it up. Other then that(which you can get a Bluetooth extension for another $100 :/) everything works perfectly.

Idea great, app worthless!
On the iPhone 5s (iOS 8) anyway, it simply does not work. I can only turn lights on or off in the control function and still have to turn them off manually. The scheduling function does not work nor do the presets once saved. I called the local Vista rep and was told that until the programmers resolve this problem he is going to have this line of transformers pulled from distributors shelves! Our transformer (2 location) was $700 installed and the app does not work!
