Vorsicht!
Auf einem iPad mit iPadOS 17 hat diese App praktisch keine Funktion! Es lässt sich nichts konfigurieren, die Fader des Mixers lassen sich nicht bewegen usw. Die App friert ein und kann nur noch beendet werden.
Auf einem iPad Pro von 2017 mit iPadOS 16 ist sie aber benutzbar. Man sollte aber beachten, dass sie im Vergleich zum VST Connect Performer für Windows und OSX sehr eingeschränkte Möglichkeiten hat. Es können auf dem iPad nur Audiosignale übertragen werden, keine MIDI-Daten. Und die Einbindung von AuV3-Apps als Plugin ist anscheinend überhaupt nicht möglich.

Don’t buy it
Don’t buy it. It doesn’t work. At least for me, it has been a waste of time and money.
Is this still supported by Steinberg?
I downloaded today and on iOS 16 I just can seem to get anything other than the log in to the VST cloud working.
After loading, it freezes after a could of click.
Please let me know if this is still a product or I can ask Apple for a refund.

Shocking problems with delay on recording
Not happy, total waste of money.
We found it impossible to use this in convention with the very latest version of the software.
It’s so hard to sync the recordings.
If it had some kind of time code built in it would be fine.
That way you could line up via a clock. As it it if I could I would ask for my money back.

We have spent many thousands of pounds on the studio over the years but during lockdown needed to carry on recording.
This was not only hard to set up to record but a shocker to try and fix timing issues.
Also to expect me to buy a version for the Mac when the iPad version was unusable is a total shocker.

WHY?!
I’ve tried both this app and the pc windows version of this and it doesn’t work at all. Please make this compatible. Otherwise this was a complete waste of money even for 4.99.

Mai 2020! immer noch das gleiche problem wie bei allen...neues connnect pro 4 mit cub 10.5 auf host aber die app kann keinen login key erhalten. Ist kein feature der prosoftware mehr ...strange.. sowas darf nicht passieren oder bitte schnell nachregeln!

Keine Verbindung zu Cubase 10.5 Pro möglich
Ich habe mich auch gerade vom Angebot von VST Connect Pro locken lassen. Leider geht die Verbindung zwischen der iPad App und Cubase 10.5 Pro mit dem VST Connect 4 Plugin gar nicht. Schade - 2x umsonst Geld ausgegeben...

Ich habe die App mit Cubase 10Pro ans laufen gekriegt. Allerdings steht ganz oben auf meiner Wunschliste, dass man sich nach der Aufnahme die HD files auch nur in Mono holen kann und nicht noch gezwungen ist, zusätzlich die 2Kanal Version zu laden. Das kann bei einem langsamen upload schon lange dauern

Ich fasse es nicht...
Da möchte ich wegen Corona Lockdown mal wieder VST Connect nutzen, da es ja auch eine Client App VST Connect Performer für IPAD gibt, die auf der Steinberg Seite vollmundig beworben und in den Apple Shop auch noch verlinkt ist. Also kaufe ich mir erwartungsfroh für knapp 180 € das Host Plugin VST Connect Pro in der neuen Version 4 für meine Cubase Pro Installation auf meinem Mac. Und dann wird mir -nachdem keine Verbindung zwischen Host und Client herzustellen ist - klar, dass Steinberg es nicht schafft mit der neuen Version des Hosts auch den IPAD Client VST Connect Performer kompatibel zum eigenen Produkt zu halten oder zumindest auf ihrer Website darauf hinzuweisen. Nen schönen Gruß nach Hamburg... Reife Leistung...

March 2020 - Just bought this to find that it doesn’t work with the current version of VST Connect SE or Pro (Version 4). So why are you still selling it? Or at least making it clear that it doesn’t work.
Turns out that this app has not been updated since April 2015 (that’s at least 3 generations of iOS) so I think it’s safe to say they’ve dropped this from their line up.

Funktionen mit Verbesserungspotential
Man kann damit aufnehmen, aber mir fehlt eine einfache Start/Stop/Reset-Funktion, wie in CubaseIC oder CubaseICPro. Dann könnte man selbst mit dem iPad auch per Fernsteuerung Audio von einem entfernten Raum aus aufzeichnen.
So ist man immer auf den Mann am Cubase PC angewiesen.

Works as advertised. This companion app, as well as the desktop interface are simply in a league of their own. Works flawlessly on LAN, hard wired or Wifi as well as core intended use. I'm using the pro version and I can download the HD files after the preview recording, which makes it a very cost effective pro tool for certain tasks and situations. I've been watching the dev of this app from the beginning, so I'm used to its workflow, which takes minimal effort to get your head around.Steinberg are really onto something here and I'm fully expecting apps like these to become a standard.

Works great if you have a solid connection
This is a really nice implementation of the remote client for Cubase. If you have the pro version of the host plugin running in Cubase then it lets you connect back via your local wifi network, so it means you can use the iPad in rooms away from the studio setup. for example if you have drums or a piano in a room away from your recording computer then the iPad can be set up in the remote room and acts as a video link back to the computer like a virtual live room. It's a bit of a faf to set up in Cubase initially, but you can save the setup as a template and the instructions are quite clear. Haven't tried the extended features like sending midi yet, but it all looks possible. Well done Steinberg
