Excellent, could be better

The VAST app is an essential tool for Vermont snowmobilers. And you pay for it in your TMA fee. So there’s no reason not to use it and it is much improved over the years. It is the most updated available (the BMP and Polaris apps tend to lag) and particularly useful when you have a good snow year such as 2026 and go beyond your home club and adjacent area. But it is not an all purpose Nav tool and you have to download it before you’re on the trail.

Enjoy the new app love the grooming update part of it. Hopefully Vast gets this issues resolved with the gps units from the clubs that don’t always work.

Learning Curve

Huge improvement over old app. Still a few bugs but mostly cockpit errors figuring it out. Love the GPS feature.

Transfer directions

App works great. Just wish you could plot a trip on your computer and send it to your phone. I’m not a computer person but I see no way to do this.

Still seem to be some glitch’s and some locations sent in their exact location. But like the product and know that some things are getting worked out.
(Would be nice if the trails would just be open, but App can’t solve that.)
Removed a star because nickname is an issue- you don’t need a nickname

Pretty good

This app is pretty good, but it doesn’t seem to update regularly with the grooming status. I often see social media posts with grooming updates from the clubs that are not reflected on the app.

The colors that were chosen to indicate grooming status are not very clear at all, and some of them, barely even show up due to low contrast with the background app.

I also don’t understand why there are two options for gas, lodging, parking, etc.

Overall, though, pretty good and clearly shows which trails are open or closed. Condition, not so much.

Thank you for sharing your comments. There are some hiccups with trail grooming tracking, but everyone is working together to find solutions. We will check how the basemap or trail colours can be improved to contrast better. The sponsors for gas, lodging, parking, etc., are represented with blue icons to differentiate them from the rest. Maps blurred

Maps is blurry but if you know the trail numbers you can navigate. I’m guessing it gets clearly if you pay. Use to be a good app
