Unusable

Major bug involving loading pads making this app unusable. The last pad loaded takes all previously loaded pads.

Loading sounds changes all pads to that sound

Really unintuitive sample loading

Bulk Pad Assignment

If there isn't already a way to assign an entire drum kit to the pads at once, I'd like to have that feature.

FAQ

What is VU950?

VU950 is a music production app that emulates the behavior and sound of early digital samplers. It focuses on recreating the sonic characteristics that arose from the limitations of vintage hardware, offering a unique approach to sound design and sequencing.

How does VU950 sound different from realistic samplers?

VU950 intentionally recreates the internal workings of early samplers, including resolution limits, imperfect filtering, and non-linear stages. These are treated as musical characteristics rather than flaws, resulting in a distinct 'early-digital' density and tone.

What are the key sound-shaping features in VU950?

Key features include adjustable sample rates (7.5 kHz to 48 kHz), reduced bit depth processing, user-adjustable anti-aliasing, a dedicated input gain stage with drive, multiple filtering stages, and non-linear processing throughout the signal path.

Can VU950 be controlled with external hardware?

Yes, VU950 features MIDI-controllable parameters, allowing for hands-on workflow and integration with external MIDI controllers. This enables real-time manipulation of various sound-shaping aspects.

What functionality does VU950 offer in its standalone mode?

In standalone mode, VU950 provides 8 tracks, supports hosting AUv3 apps, includes a built-in multi-sampler (VU20) and MIDI device (VUMIDI), a mixer with 4 inserts per track, 17 built-in effects, and the ability to use 4 AUv3 effects per channel.

Does VU950 have ads?

No, VU950 does not contain advertisements. It is a paid application, and all features are available upon purchase.

What is the price of VU950?

VU950 is available for purchase at $4.99. This one-time purchase grants access to all core features of the application.

What devices is VU950 compatible with?

VU950 is supported on iPhone, iPad, and iPod. It is designed to run on iOS devices.
