Fun piece of nostalgia, but....
This needs a few improvements, to make it truly an enjoyable experience on iPad. First of all, instructions for players that haven’t used the game in YEARS, would be nice. Secondly, why doesn’t this game have the option to use the controls on my attached keyboard (or even recognize that I have a keyboard)?? Thirdly, if I am playing it without my keyboard (as it seems I have to, currently), it would be a lot easier if the right and left arrows were on the corresponding corners of the screen, instead of bunched up at the left corner. Especially since I am not left-handed!!

Game stopped working after last update
Game won’t start after last update. It just freezes and closes.
Great remake
This isn't a port of the original DOS game that I played as a PFY. It's a remake - the graphics have been renewed. The tracks and vehicles appear to be the same (though I've played only a few races) - and I still got lost in the same way I did back in the 90s. The original title music is there but the intrack music is different and probably new. I miss some of the old sound effects though.
The main difference is the weapons. The icons have been redesigned (it took me a while to realise the brown spikes was a hedgehog!) to a more modern design. The "best" addition is that you no longer carry just one weapon. You can have two different types and up to three or four of each type. This is an improvement on the original where I often had to fire a weapon to be able to pick up a better one.
The controls seem to work well though it's always going to be harder with two thumbs than the four fingers and thumb I used to play the original with.
Very enjoyable and well worth the 99p.
