WADL Builder is a free, completely offline tool designed to help students and teachers use the Wandt AI Disclosure Label (WADL) standard. AI detectors are notoriously unreliable and frequently accuse students of cheating by mistake. We believe the solution isn't to play cat-and-mouse with detectors, but to encourage honest, proactive disclosure. WADL lets students clearly and easily document exactly how and why they used generative AI in their academic work. For Students: This app helps you quickly build a standard disclosure label to place at the top of your assignments or research papers. You can select your process scale (from no AI use to advanced synthesis), specify how the AI assisted you (like research, outlining, editing, or coding), and sign an academic integrity pledge. Once configured, you can copy the markdown block to paste directly into your document, or export it as a clean PDF and QR code. For Instructors and Faculty: You can use WADL to set clear, plain-language AI expectations for your classes. The builder lets you generate customized syllabus statements and beautifully styled LMS blocks (compatible with Canvas and Brightspace) that tell students exactly what level of AI assistance is permitted for a given assignment. Privacy and Security: WADL Builder operates under a strict offline-first model. All PDFs, QR codes, and disclosures are generated locally on your iPhone or iPad. We collect no data, require no account signup, run no telemetry scripts, and track absolutely nothing. Your academic work remains completely private and entirely your own.
