The name Wainuiātea has been used for this app as it draws on the app's underlying purpose and also has a special connection to the name of KPMG's internal Māori and Pacific Island rōpū, Kiwa (Te Moana Nui-ā-Kiwa — The Great Ocean of Kiwa). Translated literally, Wainuiātea means a vast-unobstructed body of water. The purpose of this app is to be an effective resource and rallying point for you as you begin your journey across the vast-unobstructed waters of te ao Māori.
