Love the concept, much needed

This app is such a different concept, I love doing the learning and knowing others are doing that as well, I can see their walnut points earned and badges and see that everyone has reflected to know exactly what they want in a relationship. I will be waiting for more resources and users to join but it’s worth it even for the learning bit. Hope it gets big and has users in more cities soon.

Surprised at how much I'm learning!

Really interesting concept, the learning is actually fun. I really look forward to matching with others as well, because the dating profile set up is smart and forces you to really think about what you want in a relationship. So I like that others will be equally intentional about it.

So refreshing compared to other apps

love this app! The concept it so different, It’s not about endless swiping, it actually helps you slow down and understand yourself first.

No users?

So I had this app for a week to test it out. So far there just aren’t any users even though the concept is sound. My first time going into the connect tab, there were just 3 men and no others since. Idk if there really are just 3 guys on this app or if this is a technical glitch. Nor do I have an idea how many woman using it, if there’s a gender imbalance or anything since reviews are not visible rn. And mind this is with no filters set. This app has 4 filters for you, age, distance, education and religion. I feel it should have a confirmation/declination tab for weed since that’s a major lifestyle factor and I personally would want to exclude weed users from my search. They have an “I don’t smoke”, “I don’t drink” option, but the smoking can apply to cigarettes or vaping as well. There needs to be something more in depth, like ‘weed smoker’, ‘recreational use’, ‘tried it a couple times’, or ‘Never’ for these drugs.
Anyway, the way your profile is generated is smart, the activities they give you to have the opportunity to use walnut connect are good too. There’s even a resources tab with support. I hope this app takes off and will check in periodically since this is great for more awareness in relationships, the concept is better than other apps rn. Also really hope the find friends in the connect tab starts working soon. Real relationships start small. Everything racing forward on zero substance is why dating apps today stink.

Response from developer

Hi there💛 Thanks so much for your thoughtful review! You’re right- Walnut is still brand new (we launched in beta at the beginning of July), so Connect can feel a little quiet while we grow organically and ensure we have truly relationship-oriented users join us. The good news is more people are joining every day, and feedback like yours helps us get better and better. We love your suggestion about lifestyle filters (like weed use) and are exploring ways to expand profile options soon. In the meantime, we’re so happy to hear that you’ve enjoyed the activities, resources, and thoughtful profile setup, that’s the heart of Walnut. We are thrilled you love the concept and are rooting for us to take off! Stay tuned- we’re just getting started, and with your support we hope Walnut can grow into the kind of mindful, meaningful space we all want for relationships. 💛 Warmly, Team Walnut

Love the concept!

This concept is so fresh and innovative, I first thought it was a fun mental wellness app but it’s also a dating app, which is great. The dating profiles seem so much more meaningful too because they ensure people are learning the same relationship skills as everyone. Building self-awareness and learning relationship skills before dating seems like a game changer!
