What's New in Wander
1.5
July 14, 2026
Not just walks anymore — mark any leg of a journey as a run, ride, hike, drive, boat, or flight, add the people who were there, and Wander maps the whole thing. NEW • Wander Types — every leg of a journey can be its own activity: running, cycling, hiking, driving — even a train, a boat, or a flight. Real streets and trails on land, a clean line across water or sky. • Smart suggestions — Wander reads the clues (trail names, pace, elevation) and offers "Looks like a hike." You decide; nothing changes on its own. • People — add the people who shared a journey, from Contacts or created on the spot. Attach them to a Wander (or just part of one) and browse every journey you've taken together. • Favorites — heart the Wanders you love, from the list, the detail view, or a swipe. • Logbook filters — narrow to favorites, an activity, or a person. Filters compose, and search still finds anything by name, place, or date. • Share card upgrades — your featured photo rides on top, an elevation chart comes along if you want it, and point-to-point journeys get titled like journeys: "New York to London." • At home on iPad — folder stats at a glance, people counts on every row, and a fuller stats bar with time, pace, and elevation gain. • Photo viewer — full-screen photos titled with when and where they were taken, a star marking each stop's cover photo, and a timeline rail showing how you traveled between stops. • Distances, refined — very short Wanders read in feet or meters, and switching miles to kilometers updates everywhere instantly. • The "your Wander is ready" notification now arrives reliably when you leave the app while a route builds. FIXES • Out-and-back routes follow the street you actually took — no more cut corners where you doubled back. • Changing a journey's activity on a long route now recovers from momentary Maps hiccups instead of failing. • Lots of small polish across the Timeline, folders, People, and playback. Private by design: no account, no ads, no tracking. Go Wander.

What is Wander?
Wander is a free navigation app that transforms your geotagged photos into a visual map of your walk. It automatically creates a route between your photo locations, allowing you to replay your journey and see where you took each picture.
How does Wander create routes?
Wander uses the geotag and capture time from your photos to build a street-locked walking path. Photos without location data or a date are skipped. The app processes this information locally on your device.

Does Wander have ads?
No, Wander is ad-free. The app is designed with privacy in mind and does not include advertisements or analytics.
How are my walks saved and organized in Wander?
Every walk is automatically saved with a generated name and can be sorted into folders, browsed by date, or reordered. You can also rename walks at any time.
Is Wander available on Android devices?
Currently, Wander is only supported on iPhones. It is built natively on Apple Maps and utilizes iCloud for private syncing across your Apple devices.
