You can save everyone

FYI: YES you are able to keep everyone alive. I’ve played this game multiple run throughs keeping everyone alive. It’s possible but requires a lot of strategic moves. I’ve had a lot of characters die as well. Enjoyed this game very much. Ppl complaining about a heavy advantage towards the death ratio. Just GET GOOD.

Awesome!

It seems like many of the reviewers need to accept the reality that you are not going to be able to save everyone. As much as you want to.

Think of it like this::: does Rick get to save everyone in The Walking Dead?

No matter how hard he tries, or how well prepared he is, it’s just a fact that some of his closest friends and confidants are going to die, and it’s a fact that he needed to accept.

It’s a fact that you’re going to have to accept going into this game. If you can, there’s a very good chance that you’ll wind up enjoying this game.

HUGE thank you to the devs for making a fantastic turn based strategy/zombie title. Once I started I didn’t want to play anything else until I completed it. And after that, I wound up reinstalling some older zombie based games that I previously just could not get into and played the bejesus out of them.

Easy-peezy 5 stars from me.

Brilliant, tough tactics game

This is actually a surprisingly excellent, tightly-designed turn-based tactics game, with gameplay kind of somewhere between Advance Wars and Into The Breach. Saving everyone on the default “Intense” difficulty requires some serious strategic thinking and a thorough understanding of the game’s mechanics, especially in the final level. Mechanics are introduced well but not spoon-fed — may not be difficult to miss or misunderstand something and have a bad time.
- Audiovisual presentation is very nice. Story is minimalist but works well.
- The style of difficulty can be oppressive when you end up in a losing position. There is an easier difficulty (which I think you can switch to at any time?) if that’s a problem.
- Be aware that dog and woman only need one food every two days.
- Not a long game. Could definitely have been expanded further. Don’t expect more gameplay on reaching North City. I had my people on starvation rations for no reason.
- In-app purchases are only for Undo coins, and you get a lot for free during the game. I never paid for anything, used Undo quite a bit and had 49 left over at the end. You can always restart the level for free.
- I used undo when anyone died so not sure what the balance would be like after a permadeath. Without trying it it sounds kind of impossible.
- Don’t forget to use pushing and pulling for a lot of things.
- Some way to know whether you found all the secrets after completing the game would be good. The pharmacist’s license didn’t seem to do anything so not sure if I missed something.

Anyway, very pleasant surprise. Feels more like a [short version of a] classic tactics game than something you expect on mobile.

good game, you need to think more about every steps and make use of everyone’s ability

Waiting for Wanna Survive 2

Fun but difficult

Great art, great asymmetric character powers, very fun gameplay. Consider toning down the difficulty of the final level. It took a lot more tries and effort than the rest, and even then, I can’t manage to get no deaths

Great value

Very surprised it’s a mobile game . If you’re on the fence jump over and give it a go. Especially if you’re Into turn based tactics games

Amazing!

This is an amazing game that requires very strategic thinking to win, as well as good resource management. Food is scarce so use it wisely!

Definitely a must-play for the turn based strategy gamers.

Impossible

I swear to god, I’ll never beat it, the first 3 levels are doable, but after that it starts adding zombies like mad, I can’t even beat the 3rd level without losing somebody to the zombies

Amazing

God this game is so good. It checks EVERY single box I had for it going into it.
I only have one question.. Is it possible to save everyone? I gotta know. I’ve been stuck on this supermarket level for over 24 hours all together because I’m determined to loot everything and save one; am I wasting my time?

Like living a zombie movie!

Hard game to put down, all the way to the end. Great strategy fix, and filled with procedurally venerated movie moments. Thank you for making a great iOS game!

Good game

Fun game so far I’m I still at the beginning

Fun but too difficult

Really great to play but even on easy mode, this game is still really difficult and seems impossible to play keeping all the characters alive. I also think that it’s really greedy to ask for coins to rewind your turn, especially when you already have to purchase the game in the first place.. I play a lot of old school Nintendo games so for me to say this is a difficult game is saying a lot. I just ended up giving up and stopped playing.

Good idea and concept ruined by difficulty

This game is very fun: a simple turn based strategy with an interesting setting and a few good mechanics. The problem is the difficulty of the levels and the food mechanic.

You won’t find enough food to feed your whole party on any level unless you let party members die during a level. Otherwise you will have to choose between party members to kill off via not feeding them.

There’s almost no point in having the hunger/food system because the further you progress in the game almost every player in your party will start the level with one star of health so you need to try and be perfect and not get hit once. After about the seventh or eighth level the amount of zombies becomes just about impossible to surmount. As others have said, the mechanic of choosing to kill off members of your party is abused and not a great tactical idea anyway because you need as many attackers as you can get as you progress in the game.

The lesser difficulty makes almost no difference either.

Turn based strategies are fun when you can actually play them and not immediately head into losing party members. The later levels feel like one is always on the back foot and constantly trying to replay turns or the whole stage. That doesn’t make for much fun in my opinion.

I paid for this game as it looked really fun and I appreciate the creator’s work; however, it’s a waste if it’s an impossible task to win and progress parts of the storyline without killing off half the party or more.

So good

Awesome game

Too hard

Every stage someone dies. These zombies are impossible, and more come each turn. It’s no matter which difficulty level you choose. The outcome is the same. Wasted my money

Decent but needs work.

I find myself in love with anything related to an apocalyptic setting. Whether the world ends mysteriously to disease, or technology has overtaken humanity... however zombies have always been a soft spot. I’ll admit I was very excited to see this recommended as I needed a good offline game to kill time on during my slow days. However, this game frustrates me to no end. A lot of times I apply so much strategy to the game, thinking that if it was made and finished it has to have an ending with the best possible outcome. Here’s the issue: it feels like the game is designed to take advantage of the death mechanic in which that your crew will die so quickly due to the sheer numbers. Even the best possible planning I still lose one member of the party, something that is going to cripple me in the long run if I do, because each level adds even more zombies. I even switched the difficulty to the easier setting and felt like it was still unplayable at times. I’ll have to sit for an hour rewinding and rewinding because I didn’t move exactly the right way and now a vital character is gone. Just corpsed.

Definitely a fun game and tests my patience and strategy, but the levels are just too much sometimes... and it’s only the first few- as if the late game will be genuinely impossible or the game is just short and prepares you for that feeling.

Heart gripping

The difficulty and fighting makes it scary but exhilarating. Word of warning don’t choose high difficulty if it’s ur first time

Fun tactics game

Has some depth, plays fast.

Way too hard

There’s literally no difference in difficulty between the two modes. This game needs a lot of work. As of right now, 2-22-2020, it’s not worth the money.

Fun Until Difficulty Goes Off the Rails

First half of the game is playable. It’s an enjoyable experience that takes a few hours, it’s like a stripped down into the breach.

Then you realize every level has more zombies, stronger zombies, and less resources than the last. There is no reprieve. There are no interesting decisions to be made since if you don’t play flawlessly you can’t beat the game. “Chill” difficulty just gives you more food, it doesn’t change the fact that the levels are unplayably hard.
