Abandoned

Great concepts and fun gameplay, but it is very obvious between the constant bugs and the half finished tutorials that this game was abandoned in its very early stages and with years without an update will never be fixed or finished. Would be fine if they brought down some of the paywalls so some could enjoy their broken game, but in this state I would not recommend anybody download this.

Fun game, but….

I really enjoy the game. But you have to watch an ad to be able to buy a new card pack. Not that you get a free card pack for watching an ad….but if you want to buy a card pack then you have to watch an ad first. It’s odd, almost like you are getting screwed twice. Not only do you have to buy a pack of cards, but you have to watch an ad before they will let you buy a pack. It’s pretty ridiculous. If this game were pay once and play…. I would love it. It’s a fun game.

Beautiful, despite minor frustrations.

There are so many praises to be sung about this game: the art design is beautiful, the concept for each strategy/character is immaculate, and the campaign story is also really fun. Cannot thank the developers enough for a really cool game.

However, I keep running into the same problem: Most days when there are any multiplayer/tournament daily goals, I am unable to complete them because there are not enough active players, even when I check back at multiple times throughout the day. I wish there was a way to freely skip those goals in favor of others that don’t rely on other players being active as well.

Another issue is that when I clicked on the “App Support” button in this App Store listing, it took me to a 404 Page Not Found. Are the developers still around?

Overall though, I do wanna circle back to the beginning and say thanks for a cool game! :)

Unfinished

Played the game years ago on Kongregate before flash died and I couldn’t play it any longer. Thought I could have some fun when I saw it was on mobile. Unfortunately it seems that the developer has stopped working on the game. As of this review, the last update is about a year ago and even the starter campaign is only about half there with the rest labeled “Coming soon”. Who knows maybe the developers will come back and continue but not at this time.

So much potential

This game is a very interesting take on the typical card game genre. I wish the devs still cared about it or there was any kind of community.

Classic from Kongregate

This game doesn’t take advantage or offer a p2w strategy. The development team is super friendly and very vocal in the community!

Can’t stop playing

This deck builder is sooo much fun! Single & multiplayer, with four factions & multiple heroes in each faction. Each hero has a unique ability, and you can unlock multiple decks per hero. Never gets old; feelin sick of Metris? Switch it up to Vespitole! One of my ultimate favorite games, and by far my favorite deck builder. Opening packs is super satisfying & although you can buy resources, the game is not gated at all by any pay to play nonsense. Fun for all ages.

Not what I expected from a F2P game

So yes there are in app purchases, but the fact that I don’t need to buy anything to avoid ads or unlock enough to play is already a plus.

The gameplay is amazing. I feel like I’m actually playing a board game. It’s almost a cross of dominion and Mtg. Really engaging play and you make enough in game currency to open new packs all the time.

The addition of having different characters with different sets of cards and abilities ensures no getting bored.

Really enjoy it, have yet to play multiplayer but I’m definitely going to introduce this to friends that play board games and see what they think.

First review I’ve ever written and yes it was prompted by the game. Yet I’m glad it did because I wouldn’t write this essay of a review otherwise.

Definitely worth trying out

Great and unique game, but then it’s taking too much battery over card game.

Great Game, Fun Gameplay

This is a very well crafted card game with nice art and complex deck building. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because it’s somewhat glitchy and remains unfinished. Still very playable though.

Not just another deck builder

War of Omens offers a unique strategy experience that really rewards thoughtful play. This is an excellent game!

Fun time for mama

So silly, but I haven’t played a video game in 20 years, but I find this such a great balance between mindless and strategy.

Thank you so much for adding multi-pack buying

Honestly the only thing this game needed was to be able to buy multiple packs at once because it took a VERY long time to buy packs before.

BUT

This is not the way that it needs to be. It is now maybe 20% faster. It should be made so that you pay 10x as much and you open one pack and get 10 of the cards that you choose.

Love this game!

Great game, easy to pick up and pick down.

Been playing for quite a few years

Got in to WoO shortly after full launch on Kongregate, downloaded the ios app as soon as it was available, then the same on Steam. I’ve seen constant additions and balance changes and a very loyal fanbase.
The design of the four factions is well done, from flavor to gameplay.
The ios version has a visibility issue with cards in play from time to time, but that’s really the only major downside.
The grind vs. play to win aspect is pretty standard, and I have no issue supporting a game I love. And War of Omens has given me hundreds of hours of surprisingly deep gameplay.

An incredible CCG from generous devs

I play this every day, and it’s honestly the best game I’ve ever played. There are some seriously unique card mechanics that makes playing as each faction feel interesting and different, and the upgrade system is super generous (easy enough for free-to-play players to get it all!). Limited in scope so far, but the content available is refreshingly weird and deep in story despite being simple to learn mechanically.

I’ll honestly probably still be playing this years from now!!

I love it

I’ve been playing daily since it started on Kongregate back in 2014. Despite part time development, the game play has a ton of variety that has kept me interested all this time. The emergent game play and testing out unlikely card combinations in Tournament mode is my favorite part of the game.

Easy to pick up - pretty generous

Time is of course your most valuable resource, but the game seems good at explaining how to play if you are new to deck building games (like I was). Only complaint is that every now and then the background will flicker and grey squares will be visible instead of the card arts. It’s really only an inconvenience for a few minutes and then fixes itself over time.

Good game

Always enjoyable, always free to play even for newbies. Wish it lagged a bit less on mobile tho.

Mix of dominion and MtG

Good concept. Would like to see more campaign (only half of one campaign so far). Also a little glitchy: a lot of times it doesn’t show the cards in play unless you tap and hold them.
