FAQ

How does Water Eject work?

Water Eject uses two modes: 'Water' to expel water from the speaker using 150-230 Hz tones, and 'Dust' to vibrate dust loose from the grille using 120-600 Hz sweeps. Both modes play 10 pulses over 30 seconds with the phone speaker-down.

Does Water Eject clean the earpiece or charging port?

No, Water Eject is designed to work only on the bottom speaker grille. It does not affect the earpiece, microphone, or charging port.

How can I check if Water Eject improved my speaker sound?

The app uses microphone access to play a chime before and after a cleaning run. It then provides a reading of 'Louder than before the run,' 'About the same as before,' or 'Quieter than before the run.'

Is Water Eject free to use?

Your first run in either mode is included for free. After that, a one-time purchase unlocks unlimited runs. There are no subscriptions or ads.

Can I use Water Eject with headphones or Bluetooth speakers connected?

No, the app requires you to disconnect any headphones, AirPods, or Bluetooth speakers before use. It also requires the volume to be turned all the way up.

What happens if my speaker still sounds muffled after using Water Eject?

If the speaker remains muffled after two runs in water mode, the app directs you to Apple's official page on drying a wet iPhone. It cannot dry the inside of the phone.

How often is Water Eject updated?

The app was last updated on September 21, 2026, with version 1.0. Information on future update frequency is not available.

What devices is Water Eject compatible with?
