Water Eject - Ripple

Water Eject is a speaker-clearing tool and nothing else. No decibel meter, no spectrum, no bundle of extras — one job, done properly, and an honest account of where the physics stops. HOW IT ACTUALLY WORKS Water trapped over a speaker is not evaporated by sound. It is thrown out mechanically, by a diaphragm moving through a large excursion, which is why the useful band is low and why the Apple Watch uses a tone in the same region. Two details decide whether that works: • A single fixed tone hits one mechanical resonance. Every phone body, port and case is different, so Water Eject SWEEPS the band instead of hoping. • A continuous tone settles into a steady state. Water Eject pulses the amplitude several times a second, because it is the restart of the movement that shifts a droplet, not a steady hum. The signal stays a clean sine at full scale. Square waves move the cone further but dump energy into the voice coil at harmonics it was never built for, and cooking a speaker to save it is not a trade worth making. DID IT WORK? This is the part most apps leave out. The clarity check plays a steady 2 kHz reference tone out of the loudspeaker and listens to it on the microphone, before and after a cycle. Water in the port muffles the tone, so the level that comes back rises once the port is clear, and you get the change as a plain figure. It compares two moments in the same room — and if the room is too loud for the tone to stand out, it says so instead of inventing a number. THE THINGS THAT ACTUALLY MATTER • Volume. The water is moved by how far the cone travels. Water Eject watches the system volume and tells you when it is too low for any of this to matter. • Posture. Hold the phone with the speaker pointing at the floor. Gravity does at least as much of the work as the tone does. • The case. Take it off if it covers the port. BOTH SPEAKERS The loudspeaker at the bottom edge and the earpiece above the screen are different drivers on different routes. Water Eject can force either one, so water in the call speaker is not a lost cause. SAID PLAINLY No sound can dry a phone. This moves water sitting on the speaker and does nothing for moisture anywhere else in the device. It cannot help a phone that went underwater — power that off and let it air-dry, which is Apple's own guidance. It cannot undo corrosion, and a grille packed with pocket lint needs a soft brush, not a signal.
