About
The bells of Evenbell have stopped. Deep under the hill the Hush is waking, a hungry quiet that eats light and sound, and every night another lamp in the town goes out.
Waxby is a small candle-keeper with a flame on his head. That flame is his life and his light: every hit burns it shorter, and the dark closes in. Somebody has to go down and ring the bells again.
SIX WORLDS UNDER THE HILL
A sunken cathedral of stained glass and lava. The Tallow Deep, where a thousand years of candles melted into hills of wax. An orchard of bones and vines. A frozen bell tower built upside down, full of clockwork. A shattered sanctum of glass in the wind. And the Hushdeep, at the bottom of the world.
24 levels and 6 secret ones, and at the end of every world a boss, and a bell to ring.
FIVE CALLINGS
Choose how your candle fights. The Candleknight guards with a shield and rushes with it. The Taperwitch throws flares that leave a light behind. The Sootrunner slips through smoke and strikes from behind. The Bellfounder swings a maul that shakes the floor. The Sexton calls mourning wisps. Each has its own Special, its own way of moving and its own skill tree, and you can raise the others later.
LOOT, RELICS AND WAXLEY
Gear with Legendaries, and relics to wear on your belt. Most bosses let you choose your prize the first time they fall. Waxley the chandler sells gear, relics and draughts for embers, and buys what you don't wear for a quarter of his price. "Embers only, friend."
AN ILLUSTRATED STORY
Story scenes play between the worlds, from the night the bells stopped to the bottom of the world and home again. Give Waxby your own name at the oath. The Tales let you watch any scene you've seen again.
YOUR WAY
Three difficulties: Dusk, Nightfall and Witching Hour. A gentler candle if you want one, and your own brightness, button size and screen shake. Three save slots. Beyond the story: the Endless Descent, the Waxworks boss rush and the Vigil Trials. An MFi, Xbox or PlayStation controller plays the levels; menus and choice cards are touch.
MADE IN CODE
Every picture in Waxby is drawn in code, and every sound and every note of its music is synthesized. Nothing is borrowed.

The Tinker of Hours plays fairer. He only hurts during his sword cut now, so you can slip past him between bells, and ringing the wrong bell no longer spins his clock ahead. He's still a real fight. Thanks for playing Waxby!
