What's New in WayAndSee

1.4.17

February 25, 2026

We are continuously improving WayAndSee and release new versions one or two times every year New: Game Center leaderboards are now integrated into the info feature. New: Recurring leaderboards save not only achievements (the top three places), but also all lower rankings. New: Achievements can now earned multiple times New: Achievements are now awarded as Gold / Silver / Bronze medals New: There are now additional recurring leaderboards for Europe and North America. New: Starting with iOS 18, you can also select a set of rankings for the GameCenter icon New: If you tap on a map for a longer time, you can get a route to that point Info: This was a user request that we were happy to fulfill Fix: CarPlay detection is now more stable Fix: Several minor functionality and stability improvements Since version (V1.4.5) WayAndSee also supports recurring GameCenter leaderboards (at least IOS 14 required). These recurring leaderboards last 30 days and are automatically recreated after each cycle. This means that newcomers also have a chance to be in first place. WayAndSee uses your SeeScore value and other achievements (number of countries visited, etc.) to show leaderboards in GameCenter. This allows you to compare yourself with all WayAndSee users who also use GameCenter. WayAndSee shows its own leaderboards for each type of SeeScore (number of countries visited, cities, etc.). These leaderboards are available as a global leaderboard and one for each continent. In the leaderboards per continent, only those users whose place of residence is in this continent are counted. ALL users are ranked in the global leaderboards. GameCenter also offers the option of inviting friends for direct comparison. The next main version will support Apple’s iCloud service... Changes in former versions since V1.0 - added: There is a new switch under \"Settings\". It allows even very poor GPS signals to be recorded. This is helpful, for example, on train journeys, where the GPS signal is partially lost or very weak. Please note that with weak signals, the accuracy can be very poor. - added: Notice to the user if the desired operating mode is not possible with the current permission to read location data - added: You can now choose whether you want to see the list of countries in "Info/Days" in the visited order or only as a summary - added: WayAndSee will ask after some time if you want to provide an App Store rating - added: Alert when a newer version is available on the App Store - added: "WaysTrackReport", which generates a mail body listing your stays outside your home by selecting "Share" in detail views - added: Per day and motion, WayAndSee shows the distance traveled and the time this took - added: Dark Mode support - added: A tap on a visit annotation pops up a detailed info screen with a list of visits, related Wikipedia articles and pictures taken nearby - added: Possibility to "lift" the entire cover in order to use the map for navigation - added: Start-/Stop markers to show auto restart in action - added: Support for live photos for built-in picture viewer - added: Nice graphic effects for countries when zooming map - added: Country border lines for countries visited - added: Coast lines for the whole world for a better orientation - enhanced: several screens have been updated layouts and new elements to improve handling and usability ... as well as several bug fixes and performance improvements.

Love it!

Best app that tracks where you’ve been.

Love this app and the ability to track where you have been, and what is left to explore. Love that it tracks cities, states, grids, etc. Been using it for a month and really enjoy it.

Response from developer

Hello Explore8595, hanks for your review. Your enthusiasm and recognition are an enormous incentive for us.. thank you very much!!

Thanks

Thank you for ur response I’ll have patience

Response from developer

Yes, you can get around the problem if you set up the new iPhone from the data backup of the old device. WayAndSee’s data is backed up with every data backup…. And yes, we want to use iCloud to store data off-device. We already had a solution, but it wasn't good. That's why we're currently rewriting the code with a new approach. A little more patience... it's coming! 🙂
