Thank you for writing about this. An update is on the way very soon that allows for transferring Hunt data between devices more easily.

It’s decent.

It is a decent game, would be great if we were able to add photos to the question so when they get to the location, the photo would pop up with the question and answers.

Indoor hunt

This app is weird when you try to do an indoor hunt because all it says is scan your photo. I walk every where in the house and it still says that it does not show one of the purple things that give you a question.

Can’t add images into your own creation.

This app is really cool in theory. When you go to create tour own trip you can not add your own ar images and there is not a bank to choose from.

Please drop requirement for cellular when using outdoors

I have a WiFi only iPad that I would like to use this app when outdoors. Please allow for no internet connectivity when hunting outdoors. Fix that, get 5 stars.

Since we've designed Waypoint EDU as a geocaching-style scavenger hunt, the app requires a device with GPS for positioning outdoors – unfortunately it's a technical limitation. However, you could get around this limitation! Using one of the Official Hunts, print out the Waypoint Cards, and place them around outside. While this will currently only work with the official hunts like Famous Inventions and Wonders of the World, we hope to be able to make it possible for the Hunts you create as well.

Love this so far but..

I think this app is great and the applications are so many but the only thing that would make it perfect is being able to edit where waypoints are placed?? Instead of only being able to randomize the points..I’m not sure if I’m just unsure of how to read and understand the app layout (which is also a bit confusing and ambiguous at times..) but I just can’t figure out that one detail.. GAAAH!

Sorry for the confusion; this is possible. From the Creator map, if you tap to select the waypoint marker, then tap and hold on the same marker, after a short delay the marker will lift up and you can drag it to a new position.

Suggestions

As an educator, I would love to use this. However, I would like to see track the students progress. Some kind of a sign in and a way to show the progress of the students from question to question.

Thank you for the feedback. To do this we had to release a separate version (Waypoint EDU VPP) that integrates with Apple's Schoolwork app.

Great app

I teach ELA and I love to find new ways to engage my students. This is going to be a fun and active way to learn. I know my middle school students will love it.

We had lots of fun outside with the kids looking for these inventions and wonders of the world. Totally recommend!!!

We did discover (and fix) an issue with sharing via AirDrop and with answering long quiz questions. The most recent version has the fixes. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

Love this app!

My kids and I love using this app to get outside and spend time together. It is perfect for families of all ages and is great for the classroom as well. Love it!

Fun way to get your kids OUTSIDE!

As a parent, I’m always looking for ways to get my children out and about, to burn off their energy and get their minds going, and Waypoint EDU does just that! My daughter and son had a great time finding the different waypoints and then using what they’ve learned in school to answer the quiz questions. I like that the app requires parent (or teacher) involvement in creating the playfield and selecting the waypoints, and even gives us the option to set up our own hunt. My kids have already given me ideas on what they want to see for their next hunt! I will definitely be sharing this app with their teachers!

So fun

I love Geocaching and this adds a nice twist to it by educating the hunters with interesting stories driven by augmented reality.

Yes! An AR app perfect for Education!

I enjoy geocaching/educaching am an educator. This app brings these things together beautifully, excited for this ‘useful in the real world’ implementation of ARKit!!
