Not only is the performance of the WBAY News app redesign bad, it no longer provides up-to-date news. The most recent news it provides is from the day prior, as if it is a printed newspaper.
The adds interfere with my enjoyment of the articles. They should only play if you want them to play
I hate that videos play automatically and there is nothing in settings to turn it off.
Am/was a WBAY live tv and app. Why did I update? So angry that I cannot forward articles anymore. Deleted new app but trying one more time. If still issues of digging thru everything, out you go!!!
Whatever you did for this update make me not even want to open the app. Stutters when scrolling and no swipe back feature. Bad upgrade for an update.
The change sucks. Time to get news elsewhere.
This newest redesign is horrible
Hate the alerts sound, and not finding a way to mute
This app videos displays news for any where else but your actual station. When moving between stories, it always refreshes. Cumbersome, not user friendly app!
Really?!?
I’ve been using WBAY as my sole app for daily local news online for years. I find the recent update annoying. Stories immediately start a video. I’d prefer that to be optional. The layout is not as good as the previous version. I will probably delete it and move to one of the other GB News apps
I didn’t know the tv station was going to change the app. App is not great seems very similar to another local tv station’s app.
Don’t like the new look of the display seems messy and if you are not in a private space you really can’t read a article because ads or the article automatically starts playing and can disrupt other people around you. No where to turn it off.
I just updated my app that I’ve used for years. This has been my go to for local news. I’m deleting this because every story when opened has a video automatically started that is unrelated to the story that was opened plus you can’t mute or pause until the ad is finished. Every single time.
Terrible upgrade, going to delete from phone. Click on story to read and a video ad begins automatically- cannot stop video or sound until ad finishes playing.
Why does the sound play automatically on videos without any way of muting the sound? Most of the time I just want to read the article, not listen to the newscast.
Not sure why this news app was changed recently but I will no longer use it. Nothing but ads blasting you, taking up battery life and data. No option to turn off auto play that I could find. The latest update was a huge step backwards in my opinion!
Very bad idea I liked it the way it was this is so bad I can’t even watch it
I like this app except with the recent update I continue to show I have an unread notification/alert and it never goes away no matter how many times I go in and review everything
If you have a Ring or Google doorbell, you’ll be checking your door and phone a lot more. Every time WBAY releases a notification, the app uses the same tone as the doorbell. The devs should have known that OR it was purposely done so you would pick your device up a lot more frequently. Either way, bye-bye app. It’s been a good run.
