USD ??

Les frais et la monnaie USD rendent le tout terrible.

Terrible

Terrible

Too much fee

Why is so much fee in USD for a bet? This looks like you have partnered with Kalshi, a stock betting platform. Develop a Canadian one hiring engineers.

Response from developer

Hey there, we appreciate your feedback surrounding currency conversion fees. We understand a native CAD trading experience would be ideal, but in the near term we're limited by the fact that these markets are USD-denominated. Your feedback has been shared directly with our Development team as we continue to grow and improve the product.

Wealthsimple take a weird way

I don’t know if I can continu to trust Wealthsimple. They make weirds choses and they look like they don’t know where they go. They release too much different services. I think I will limit the money I save with Wealthsimple and continu to trade on disnat. And predict is another wrong choice they make. The fees are really high, a real scam. You can only use USD and the conversion fees are also really high. So you pay conversion fees and you again pay fees everytime you buy an option. You don’t have choice, you are limit to predict bitcoin price and stocks index, you have probably 1% the choices of polymarket.

Cool but

It’s cool, but most interesting bets are not available in Canada

Bizarre Move Wealthsimple

Sad to see Wealthsimple succumb to the ills of gambling culture. You’d think they’d want to do better and be better than this but who cares about morals when a quick buck can be made. Sad to see

From brokerage to casino

They’ve scooped low. Went from a being a brokerage to a casino. Why do such a thing smh….

Wealthsimple Predict is great, but USD is annoying.

I wanted Predictions, and Wealthsimple created a good product, but in my opinion, it was poorly executed because every single prediction is in USD, which is extremely annoying. Regardless, I do think it’s an amazing product, and I would ignore the people complaining about it. They did everyone a huge favor by making it a separate app when they didn’t have to. Personally, I would’ve preferred having it all in one app.

I love gambling

20 % of men in the US are in addiction anonymous and suicide prevention programs due to being addictive to predictive markets also known as gambling

USD disappointment

Might as well call yourselves American if you are forcing Canadians to use USD and pay conversion fees and order fees

Response from developer

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback, and we're sorry for the frustration here. To clarify how funding works: You can fund your account with CAD, but all contracts are priced and settled in USD, so you'll need to convert CAD to USD before trading. This is such a bad look

A cool idea I guess, seems like a waste of their time and resources to develop an inferior version of polymarket that is purely USD and purely focusses on us politics and economy.

Boo WS, do better.

Needs a CAD option

Would like to use Canadian dollars instead of US dollars.

Undercooked but interesting

App locks up on error states, forcing you to relaunch. It seems AI-generated without any meaningful QA. Slick interface though, and easy to move money around in.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback. We've just released app version 1.2.0, which includes performance improvements to enhance the experience. Please update to the latest version in the App Store when you get a chance! If you're still running into issues after updating, you can email us at predictionsupport@wealthsimple.com.

Sellout

Wealthsimple was supposed to be the good bank, now they are sellouts for fees and fake polymarket

Currency Conversation

Currency conversation rate is insanely high. Better off with Interactive Brokers or Questrade.

Fees are a scam

Genuinely insane how bad the fees are compared to similar platforms. You can’t trade in CAD so more fees there. Awful

USD

Cute app very simple but USD + order fees is too much. Could be great product if can navigate regulatory and make better. Pushing it too early on main app tho not quite ready

USD only

I thought Wealthsimple was a Canadian company, why would they create a predictions app that only uses USD.
