Inappropriate pictures
I’m quite disappointed in some of the pictures that have been used. Why are we using this app (not to mention, it wasn’t cheap) with our speech kiddos? A woman in a sports bra in a few pictures may be too much skin for elementary students. SMH
Very disappointed
I have used this app for years and LOVED it until recently. I just got a new iPad and it is crashing every time I try to input a student’s goals.
Not worth the money
There are much better artic apps both with and without games. The games appear on screen for a matter of seconds even my lower functioning kids are not entertained by the activities.
Great and easy
Okay super duper, I LOVE this for tracking and working with students with different targets. I LOVE that I can write the goals for phonological processes or articulation. I LOVE that I can make goals broad or super specific. I can also use this for vocabulary building. I don't have any issues using this with my 1st - 5th graders. They seem to like it. If you choose "phrase level" You have to "tap" on the word and it will change to a phrase, it took me a bit to figure that out. A new game would be cool. If you incorporate a Minimal pairs game I'll change my rating to 5 stars!

This is a really good app as it has game elements within the sound work parts so the children get rewarded as they go. I looked at a few apps and decided that the children would enjoy this the most.
K-5 SLP
This game is ok for kindergarten, but proved very dull for my 1st-5th grade clients. All of the arcade games are exactly the same, touch one object and get a target word/phrase. For example, on balloon pop you would think they get to try to pop as many balloons as they can,etc. but all they do is pop one balloon each turn and get a target...same for hidden treasure...you would think that they would get to "hunt" for the treasure, etc. but the gems are in plain sight and all they do is touch one and it gives a target, there is no challenge or fun in it. Advantages to the game I guess are that you can record and replay responses. It's an ok app if you just want to drill and have the iPad collect the data, but not if you are looking for a "fun" or motivating game. In my opinion it is not worth the price. My kiddos would rather use drill cards and play a board game.

Pre k slp
Many games to play which can be used with following directions/ color I.d. I like that the game stops for the child to say the word/phrasing and you can slide to make more words/phrases to say. I like to have child say more than one at a time. Good to track progress or put in goals for frequent sounds for multiple users.

Don't download or update if you have iOs 5.1 or lower - you won't be able to use this app anymore!
Article castle
The kids like it for a while, but get bored quickly as the games don't change. Also, I would like to be able to choose two sounds at the same time but it isn't allowed.

This APP was very disappointing. Although the are a great assortment of beautiful photos, you are unable to select the words you want the child to practice. Many of the words are not within the student's vocabulary level and certainly not the words they need to practice. This APP is not worth the money.

I purchased the full app after downloading the trial. Here is what I like about it: ability to input goals for each student, scoring options, graph for visual results, good flash cards, can switch between games without ending the session
Here is what I don't like: you have to press the save button after you record if you want to go back and listen to your students recording, doesn't have the option to target different sounds at the same time during a game(you can switch goals during the session), the games all are the same(touch then say a word).
What I would like to see changed: simpler recording tools, ability to choose goals for phonological processes, more interesting and varied game play options.
All in all I will still use it since I paid for it but it is definitely not a stand alone therapy tool.

Fun and useful
I downloaded the free version (that only has the /b/ phoneme) prior to purchasing the full. I feel that the app allows for good goal planning (I.e. initial/medial/final position, number of syllables in the word, etc). Even though the games are reduplicated my preschool clients are engaged and willing to wait for the flashcards and say their sounds. With other games I find that the kids can be self directive, but these games allow for the kids to go at a slower pace. Also the flashcards and data collection can be utilized in other therapy activities. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Big disappointment!
Although this game promotes having multiple Artic games, they are essentially all the same thing. Whether you are playing treasure hunt, balloon pop or another game all they involve is touching one item, then the client gets a flash card to say. My speech clients thought they would get an allotted amount of time to pop as many balloons, find as many treasures or grab as many ducks as they could, which I also assumed, then get a prompt. Instead, they get to touch one thing and get their flash card prompt. I have to agree with them, BORING! I thought for the price and all the games described this would be a great investment. Overpriced duplicate games that are not challenging even for the younger kiddos.
