WebSDR AUV3 Plugin for DAWs

This is the only AUv3 plugin for use in an iPadOS/iOS Digital Audio Workstation. Unfortunately Apple made changes that directly affected this app’s ability to connect to most WebSDR servers, fortunately you can still connect to several Russian servers which allows you to pick up Russian transmissions, see atmospheric disturbances and tune into data transmissions. If you want to surf more shortwave and scanner frequencies but do not need to route through a DAW, Echo:Global SDR Receiver will serve you better.

This app doesn’t work well at all. Id like a refund

Ne fonctionne

Ne fonctionne pas sur iOS 😡😡😡😡👎

Broken

This used to work great. But now it doesn’t work at all and despite the dev saying it would be fixed before long, it hasn’t, months later.

Just use this on your PC. It’s not worth it.

Nicht kaufen!

Funktioniert nicht! 👎🏼
Geld rausgeworfen…

Basically doesn’t work

Would be cool if it did.

Worst app ever , cool idea tho

First time i want my money back , it should be removed from the app store , the audio stops when you close its window . 😟

Websdr

Приложение не придерживает большую часть we SDR. Не работает в фоновом режиме. Абсолютно бесполезное приложение.

Doesn't work with the latest iOS

Trouble running this in AUM under iOS 17

I have really enjoyed this app in previous versions, both for listening and as a source of material for ambient loops in AUM. Unfortunately, it’s been nonfunctional with iOS 17.

Doesn’t work on updated iOS

The note the dev puts at the top of the description isn’t entirely accurate. I can use WebSDR from the website just fine from my iPad Safari. And it doesn’t cost me $5.99. But WebSDR doesn’t work inside this app. Which just looks like a refilled website view. I want a refund.

What I was looking for

The best app for WebSDR. Perfect for experimental music: just use it in AUM with some delays, reverbs and loopers — and it will work fine every time. Important: don't close the plugin to not stop the sound. This is a feature of WebSDR as technology, not the plugin's problem.

☹️

…schade, what a pity, läuft plötzlich nicht mehr auf dem iPad, dosen't work anymore on the iPad…
🔇🔇🔇

☹️

Läuft nicht mehr. Am Anfang ging es tipptopp aber in der letzten Zeit gehts nicht, kein Empfang egal was ich eintippe. Schade um das Geld. Online auf dem Browser funktioniert es.

It works EXCEPT…..

Sadly when using inside of AUM, the audio cuts out when you close the window. I wrote the developer but never got back a response. I’m a pretty experienced and seasoned ios music creator used to creating complex setups in AUM, Drambo, so it’s kind of a drag to have to squeeze down the window to a tiny little square and tuck it out of the way.

Response from developer

WebSDR runs on Javascript. In iOS devices Javascript only runs when the browser window is open. For this app, that means you need to keep the plugin window open somehow. If you’re running AUM you can work around this problem by opening the window and moving it off the screen in one corner so that it doesn’t block the view of your other plugins. In apps like drambo I am not aware of any work around other than keeping it visible on the screen at all times. We explained this in the app description but it’s good to clarify it here in this comment too so that future customers don’t get disappointed by false expectations. We apologize for the confusion. If you bought the app hoping for it to work with the window closed, you can apply to Apple to get a refund through the App Store.

UI improvements, but no audio

UI has been improved and app itself has nice interface. But there’s no audio… only for a split second and then it mutes. No way to recover. Requesting refund. Will try again after the next update…

Unusable

I can access the web page and all works great from there, but using the app causes the audio to pulsate at a rate of about 3-4 Hz. I hope this can be fixed.
