About

You are Wren, and you are going down. The Cellar is flooded, the doors only open when a room is quiet, and something at the bottom of each floor is waiting. Clear rooms, find the boss, kill it, take the trapdoor it leaves behind. Then do it again, deeper, until something stops you. A TWIN-STICK ROGUELIKE THAT RESPECTS YOUR THUMBS One thumb moves, the other shoots, and they work independently. Both sticks appear wherever your thumb lands rather than at some fixed spot, so you are never reaching for a control that is not under your finger. Play in landscape on a phone or a tablet, or plug in a keyboard. EVERY RUN IS BUILT FROM NOTHING The floor is generated fresh each time — rooms, enemies, items, the lot. Twenty-eight items that stack and combine in ways that break the game open. Twelve monsters, each with exactly one idea it asks you to solve. Six bosses, from a birthing sac that never moves to a pair that grows stronger when you kill half of it. Cards you can rely on and pills you absolutely cannot. NO ADS. NO TRACKING. NO INTERNET. Not "minimal" tracking — none. Weep makes no network requests at all, so it works on a plane, on the Underground, and in a basement. Nothing is collected, nothing is transmitted, and there is nothing to sign into. SEEDS AND A RECORD OF EVERY DEATH Every cellar is a pure function of its seed, so the same seed always builds the same floor, down to which room pays out what. Type one in, or share the one that nearly killed you. Every finished run is logged: how deep you got, how long you lasted, what you were carrying, and the seed that did it. Tap the seed to play it again. MADE OF CODE, NOT PICTURES There is not a single image file in this game. Every sprite is a function that plots pixels, every sound is synthesised when it plays, and the whole thing is a few megabytes because of it. It also means it is properly sharp on every screen, because nothing was ever a bitmap that had to be stretched. WHAT TO EXPECT Runs last twenty minutes or so. Death is permanent and takes your items with it. It is not forgiving, but it is fair — every attack in the game tells you it is coming before it lands.
