Great app
Well designed app for Wej. I am very happy with my wej. It adds a cool level of convenience in using an iPad or iphone for music with wireless midi and wej has a convenient usb port for charging your ios device. I have had my wej since it came out and it still works perfectly. Have fun.
Wej device - great / Wej app = not so much
Great device, though not perfect, and a not so great or even nearly perfect app.
The Wej is now part of my setup and despite its flaws I can see it being central to my iOS setup for the foreseeable future. It has great functionality with Bluetooth midi and is able to handle just about what I need for.
It is. Bit flimsy though, and the USB ports do not like to be treated with anything but ultra special care. They will break otherwise. Seriously. Bluetooth midi will always have its drawbacks with regards to latency, but I am sure improvements will arrive. Overall a nice device that is best summed up as a oversized and higher spec camera connection kit.
The app though. What's the point? May as well just use korgs BLE app as it does the same thing. In depth Customisation of devices connected would be great and those lights on the back are good and all...well, kinda, but the whole interface for them is really just a random push and slide affair for me. More precise and def more intuitive controls would be most welcome.
Overall, the wej is worth buying if you make music on iOS a lot and have many midi devices you also use, but the app. Well, it's just there, isn't it. And it could have been so much better

Great addition to a mobile studio setup!
The Wej hardware coupled with this app allows for unprecedented music making capabilities whether it is at home adding iOS into your workflow or if you need to work on-the-go and keep the hardware selection to a minimum. Can't imagine producing using iOS without Wej in my life!
Certainly a good first effort
The Bluetooth midi pass through works as it should and the LEDs are bright and crisp. If it had a sound pressure sensor like a lot of DJ lights have I'd of given it 5 stars. Never the less I'm a fan of Retronyms...
